I am also researching Jones from Panola County, Tx and neighboring counties as well. My 3rd Great Grandfather Jesse Jones b: abt 1834 in Tennessee. Married to Ann Walton b: abt 1840 in Mississippi . Resided in Panola County according to the cencus records I came across 1870-1880. All their children were born in Panola except Georgia Jones b: abt 1856 in Mississippi. A few of their sons was Jefferson "Jeff" Jones, Jim Jones, John Jones.
