MRS. PETE DAVIS DIED SUNDAY IN WINTERS HOSPITAL - Mrs. Pete DAVIS, 76, died at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, at the WINTERS Municipal Hospital, following a heart attack early Saturday morning. Funeral services were held at 4:00 p.m. Monday from the First Baptist Church with the Rev.Harry Grantz, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Spill Funeral Home. Nephews were pallbearers. Born Annie Marks April 16, 1891 in Bell County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Marks. The family moved to Runnels County about 1910, settling on a farm east of WINTERS. She was married to Mr. Davis at the home of her parents on December 5, 1913. Following their marriage they continued living on a farm east of WINTERS until 1951 when she and her husband moved to WINTERS. Mrs. Davis was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors are her husband; one son, W. J. Davis of Pearsall; one daughter, Mrs. Herman W. Bullock of Robstown; two brothers, Earnest Marks of WINTERS and Luther Marks of Heidenheimer; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Bigby of Houston and Mrs. J. C. Moreland of Plain Dealing, LA; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
