>W. G. Chapman, 75, died at his home four miles south of Ballinger Wednesday morning at 8:15 following long illness.
>Mr. Chapman came to Runnels county 31 years ago from Milam county and was one of the oldest citizens of this county. He was a successful farmer and an active member of the Baptist church until his health began to fail some time ago.
>Besides the widow survivors include eleven children: Clyde, Claude and Sid Chapman, Ballinger; Zora Chapman, Ballinger; Jeff Chapman, Groesbeck; Mrs. Ida Curfman, Wichita Falls; Mrs. J. E. Jones, Ballinger; Mrs. H. E. Fulcher, Ballinger; Mrs. O. E. Demmer, Abilene; Mrs. R. V. Price, Clovis, N.M.; Mrs. Ruth Jarrett, Ballinger; three brothers and two sisters, Jim Chapman, Stamford; Lee Chapman, Rosebud; George Chapman, Cameron; Mrs. Nancie Roscoe, Stamford; Mrs. Alice Wilson, Groesbeck; and 21 grandchildren.
>Funeral services were held this (Thursday) morning at 10 o'clock at the Jennings Funeral Home, Rev. J. H. McClain officiating.
>Active pallbearers were: J. W. Batts, Homer Corum, Dan Dorner, Virgil McShan, B. M. Batts and H. F. Demmer. Honorary pallbearers were: C. Sergent, J. L. Chastain, B. C. Kirk, G. A. Jarrett, Jim Flynt and W. B. Kilsey.
>Interment was made in Evergreen Cemetery.
>Jennings Funeral Home undertakers were in charge of arrangements.
