Galveston - Jack Ray Davis, 91, formerly of Abilene, died Sunday, October 2, 1994, at St. Mary's Hospital in Galveston. He was born August 27, 1903 in the Dale Community and lived in Runnels County most of his early life. He married Mary Bales on November 11, 1927 in Ballinger. They lived in Abilene from 1955 until 1989 when he moved to Galveston to be with his only daughter. Mr. Davis owned and operated Davis Produce and was a member of the Church of Christ. His wife preceded him in death on January 1, 1985. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Dunn of Galveston and one granddaughter, Diane Dunn of Houston. Services were held Wednesday, October 5, 1994 at the Winters Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Cobb officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger under the direction of the Winters Funeral Home. Pallbearers were nephews.
