Lady Rodgers - Mrs. C. O. (Lady) Rodgers, 88, of Tyler, formerly of Winters died Tuesday, March 10, 1987 at the Hearthstone Nursing Home in Tyler. Born Frances Ethel Davis, March 28, 1898 in Ballinger, Runnels County, Texas, she moved south of Winters in 1910 and went to school in the Bethel Community. She married C. O. Rodgers in 1918 in Ballinger, following their marriage they settled east of Winters, then moved into town in 1948. Mrs. Rodgers later moved to Coriscana in 1979 and then to Tyler. She was a member of the Baptist Church. One son, Davis, preceded her in death in 1945 and her husband, C. O. in 1964. Survivors include one son, Dennis Rodgers of Tyler; one brother, Jack Davis of Abilene; one sister, Mrs. Alice Compton of Winters; two grandchildren, Denice Smith and Dean Rodgers; and two great-grandchildren. Services for Lady Rodgers were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Winters Memorial Chapel with Rev. Cliff Poe and Rev. Glenn Shoemake officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger under the direction of Winters Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dennis Poe, Bobby Bowen, Bud Davis, A. J. Dean, Vernon Loyd Compton and Mike Davis.
