MRS. G. DAVIS DIED SUNDAY IN NURSING HOME - Mrs. Grover Davis, 91 died at 1:00 p.m. Sunday in the Senior Citizens Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday from the First Baptist Church with Rev. Fred Thomas, pastor officiating and Rev. Bob Holloway, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, assisting. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery under direction of Winters Funeral Home. Born Ida Maude Renick February 17, 1890 at Killeen, she moved in 1906 with her family to Runnels County, settling on a farm east of Winters, where she lived until moving to Winters in 1948. She was married to Grover Davis on July 20, 1913 in Winters. He preceded her in death on November 8, 1972. Mrs. Davis was a charter member of the Victory Home Demonstration Club and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church. Prior to her marriage, she had been an employee of the Postal Service in Winters. She is survived by two sons, Terrell (Bill) Davis of Dallas, and LaDell Davis of Winters; a brother, Bill Renick of Quitman; one granddaughter and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were V. E. Colburn, R. Q. Marks, Hudon White, Sr., H. M. Nichols, Carl Baldwin, Marvin Bedford, D. W. Williams and M. L. Dobbins
