M. E. MILLER DIED; FUNERAL SATURDAY
Marvin E. Miller, a pharmacist who operated Colorado Drug here for 20 years before his retirement in 1963, died early Friday morning in local hospital after an extended illness.
Funeral service for the 82-year-old former community, church and civic leader was here Saturday morning in First Baptist Church.
Rev. Glenn Roenfeldt, church pastor, officiated. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery in Ballinger Saturday afternoon.
Pallbearers were Arlene Morris, Luke Thomas, Perry Adams, Swenson Boyd, Wayne Shawn and Fred McKay. Remaining deacons of First Baptist Church were honorary pallbearers.
Miller, who was cited for 50 years of pharmacy service in 1962 by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy, was born in Lee County May 29, 1889. He married Littie Williams Oct. 6, 1910 in Norton.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller came to Colorado City in 1943. He was a member of First Baptist Church and served as chairman of the church board of deacons. He was also a member of Noon Lions Club.
Surviving him are his wife of the home at 1334 Austin Street; a daughter, Mrs. James W. Cummins of Tulsa, Okla.; one son, William F. Miller of Odessa; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
One son, Bobby Miller, preceded him in death in 1944.
