Dies from gunshot wound.
Last Thursday night Jessie Young, age about 36 years and Delbert Aday, age about 30 years of Royse became involved in a fist fight at the home of Young north of town on the Paul Crawford farm. About 1:00 Friday morning Young secured a single barrel shotgun and went down the lane where Aday was, at which place they fought again, during the battle Young fired the gun, the load striking Aday just over the right hip. He was rushed to a doctor in Royse, and from there sent to a hospital in Dallas, at which place he died Saturday June 22 at 8:20 a.m.
Just after the shooting Jessie Young came to Rockwall and surrendered to Sheriff Price, an examining trial was held before Justice of the Peace, Mrs. Grace Seeley, and she placed his bond at $3,000 which he failed to make. After the death of Mr. Aday, Mr. Young was charged with murder, and he was taken before District Judge Dawson at Canton and his bond set at $3,000 to await the action of a grand jury. He is still in jail.
