My wife and I are trying to track her Great Grandmother, Mary Ann Brown, who (we think) was born in the Red River / Lamar county area around 1850. We think she came with or later followed families that left Lamar in a large wagon train for California in 1853 and eventually settled in Tulare Co., California.

I am trying to map out all the Brown families in both counties to try to find her family. There are stories in the family that she was orphaned at a young age so I will be looking at probate records in both counties.

If you have a Brown family in Red River at that time I would be interested in hearing from you.
