Thanks Jim for your response and the information. In my search, I found that there was a Moses Williams Land Grant in Delta Co., which is not too far away. From my Mother's notes below, it's conceivable that Moses received a grant. Of course, I will have to check deeper. Boy, would that be great.

Moses and his family came to Texas 1829 with "The Nashville Company" headed by Col. Sterling Robertson. They camped along the Red River in a place called Jonesboro (later renamed Clarksville, Tx.). They were awaiting permission to settle and claim land they had been promised by an earlier governor, Martinez, , which was: 640 acres for the man of the family, 320 for his wife, 160 acres for each child and 80 acres for each slave. The contract had been suspended. Among those encamping on Red River were the Williams brothers and their families. Yellow fever broke out in the company and many died, among them was MOSES WILLIAMS (born about 1798), who left a family, among whom was sons: David, Jessie and ISSAC. MOSES' brother Issac took the orphans to raise. (Nothing has been written about the mother of the boys. There may have been other children, but history doesn't mention them.). MOSES WILLIAMS DIED in 1831, never to see his promised land.
