I just discovered this website at rootsweb world connect. This research is very well don and well documented.

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...

Just click on each name and it will show you the information on that person.

According to the death certificate of Polly Ann Petty, her parents were William Petty and Jeanette Evans, both born in Arkansas.

In 1930 James Alexander Crawford is living with his mother, brother, sister, and niece in Medina County Texas. The enumerater for some reason put the middle initial first before the person's first name. He is listed as A James Crawford. He is 52 years old.

I wonder why he and his wife lived apart from one another.

On the death certificate of James Alexander Crawford, his spouse is listed as Claudia Crawford.

Marion K.
In doing the research, I did see that someone said that one of her ancestors was full-bloodied Indian, but I cannot find that information right now. Usually there is a separate schedule for those who are Indian. You can always check the Dawes Registry to see if your family is there.

I do have the death records of Claudia Thompson Crawford's brother and sister. I also have some of the records for the siblings of James Edward Boren. Let me know if you are interested. Here is the site were you can find death certificates online.

http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?...

Have you tried to get in touch with Loraine Boren Orear?

I just found information on the father of Annie Laurie Crawford. A researcher whose tree is at ancestry.com says that Claudia Thompson was married to James Alexander Crawford, who was born 1 Nov 1878 in Atascosa County, Texas.
The researcher says that he died 20 September 1939. Here is the URL for the cemetery.
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=cr...;

His parents were George Marion Crawford and Polly Petty, according to the researcher.

There is more, but I am out of time. I must be at a dinner meeting in 20 minutes.

Marion K. Parker
wolfparker1957@gmail.com

I have just one more question and I don't know if you have the information. According to her great great grandson, my husband, she is half Cherokee. Can you confirm this by any chance?

James Edward Boren and his wife, Annie, along with their two daughters, Ardena A and Lorain are found on the 1930 census of Bexar County, Texas. He is 36, born in Texas. Annie is 28, born in Texas, Ardena is 7 and Lorain is 6.

Annie Laurie Boren's death certificate has:

Birth: 4 Nov 1902 in Real County, Texas
Death: 9 Aug 1954 in Leakey, Real County, Texas
Burial: Leakey Cemetery
Father James A Crawford
Mother: Claudia Thompson
Informant: Mrs Irene Humphries

Annie Laurie Crawford is found on the 1910 census of Edwards County, Texas. Her mother Claudia Thompson Boren, 26, and her sister, Irene, and brother, Eldredge 3, are living with the Thompsons.

In 1920 Claudia Thompson Crawford and her three children are living in Real County. The census says she is married, but the husband is not present.

James Edward Boren was born 22 February 1894 and died Jan 1979, probably in S. A., Bexar County, Texs.

His parents were Alford Byron Boren and Addie Lee Sansom.

Alford B Boren's death certificate has that he was born 15 March 1870 in Texas and that he died 14 Mar 1950 in Uvalde, Uvalde County, Texas. She died 9 March 1957 in Leakey, Real County, Texas. She is buried Leakey Cem. Her parents were Jimmy Sansom and Sally Gossett. The informant was Mrs. Preston Boren.

Vera Loraine Boren married Jesse Frank Orear, Jr. They had at least one child, James Franklin Orear.

James Franklin Orear married Linda Louise Everhart. They had a son James Michael Orear.

Loraine Boren Orear's husband, Jesse Franklin Orear, died 13 Nov 2002 in Jal, Lea County, NM. I believe Loraine is living there at present.
Hi Joyce,
Finally got ahold of my uncle. He says the names do not ring a bell but he has a huge family. He said you could email him and maybe he could ask other family members.
He is really busy right now and tends to get a lot of spam mail so make sure you put something that will catch his eye in the subject line. "Davis family tree from Tammy" would work.I am Tammy!
His name again is Glen Davis
email is harleyglen1@hotmail.com

Hope you have found the family you are looking for and hope this helps in your search.
Tamara Stuckey

Betty Jean Davis, and Ben Evans, and the street she lived on at the time, East McMillan Street.

On August 14th 1965 Betty Jean Davis gave birth to a son, Timothy James Davis who was given up for adoption 5 days later. His adoptive parents were, Robert V. Bales and Pearl Bales. Timothy James was born in Hamilton Ohio, and now lives in Kentucky.
His adoptive parents passed away and he has found his adoption papers. The address on the papers of Betty Jean Davis at the time was E. McMillan St. in Cincinnati.
From what he has been told he has siblings and would like very much to find them. If anyone knows anything at all about this, please leave a message. Thank you in advance.

Hello Bybee cousins, just found your posting and would invite you to work with a group of us Bybee descendants in our "Find all the Bybee's Project. We have been working on identifying all of the Bybee descendant from the early Virginia planters.
It appears that your link is through John Bybee IV 1793 and Catherine Welsh Bybee 1795, their daughter Elizabeth 1821 md David Edward Huffman 1818. John Bybee IV is the brother to my 3g-grandfather Byram so were would have John Bybee III and Elizabeth Kelly as our common ancestor.

Currently we have only information on 118 descendants of John IV & Elizabeth so if you can supply us any and all genealogical info you have on the families it would be of great help. Of course any info we have gathered and maintain in our files is available to all Bybee cousins who want it.

Thanks in advance for any help given.
I noticed the Potter name. My husband's gr-gr-grandfather is AJ Potter. I'm making an effort to find out more info on Joshua and Martha, his parents. Here is what I know, and all the information is reliable.

I’m looking for the names of the children Joshua Potter who is listed in the 1840 Census in Clinton Co., MO. He is also found in the 1830 census in Chariton Co., MO, and I believe he lived in Carroll Co. between the two censuses. . I believe Joshua died shortly after the 1840 census. Moving around so much, the widow probably didn’t have much, so I would expect the family stayed in Clinton Co (now Gentry Co.). They lived on North Grand River.

From the two census reports here are their estimated birthdates: Joshua, 1789/90; Martha 1800/01; Oldest male and female 1810/15; male and female 1815/20; Mary (Polly) b. 11 Sept 1821; male 1820/25; male 1826/28; Female 1826/30; Andrew Jackson April 3, 1830. Martha was reported to have seven children, so Joshua’s first two children were by his first wife (unknown). Also Martha would have been a little on the young side to have two children by age 14.

I would like to know the names of Joshua or Martha’s parents. Joshua and Martha both were reported from KY. Joshua was in the War of 1812. Polly married Jesse Jennings, probably in Gentry Co. and Andrew J. married Emily Guinn in Texas. Polly’s side of the family says that one of the brother’s names is Benjamin. A William Potter married a Hulda Morgan, Sept 26,1841 in Chariton Co. He could possibly be the oldest son who did not move with the family to other parts of MO.
POW/MIA Korean War. Real Co. MARSH

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave Real County , Texas as his home of record.

Soldier: TEDDY CLIFTON MARSH
Born: June 11, 1932. Caucasian
Date of loss: November 28, 1950. KIA

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. There are 137 families in Texas that have not been located. There is one family from Real County that has not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (77 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
hi,

thanks for responding to my message. i just recently found out that A.J. Potter was a brother to my gggrandmother Mary Polly Potter who married Jesse Walker Ginnings(Jennings). I traveled to Bunton Cem. in Dale, Texas and they are buried next to one another. I have a pic of Mary P. Ginnings, but none of William. I left class one day and was stressed out, there was the Mountain View Cemetery right next to campus so I pulled in there and behold i looked over and there was Emily Guin Potter and Amanda Potter's graves! I got out and took some pics. I had no idea at the time that Potter's ended up in the San Angelo area. I found a few more graves in the same place with Potter names that coincide with A.J. and Emily. There is a library right there on campus that is extensively just on genealogy and i spent many hours in there researching. If you live in that general vicinity you should surely go check it out. It is the West Texas Collection on Angelo State Univ. campus. I also found a book and movie called "True Women", by a lady who lives in El Paso, but from the Caldwell, Lockhart area of Texas. She writes quite a bit about A.J. Potter in her book, even though it is a fictional book. It is a must read!
I was contacted a while back by a Potter relative in the San Angelo area, and he was trying to sell many things from the Potter estate. I was pretty perturbed, as I do genealogy as a hobby and what i have i share free. I don't know exactly how he was related at the time, or which grandson of A.J. I thought of traveling there and looking at what he had, but he informed me he was not waiting and was going to put it on ebay. Anyway, I found some records on a Potter in New Mexico that (I think) was some reputable man in either law enforcement or rangers, (not sure).
There are some articles about him in the West Texas Collection at Angelo State Univ. Also, many Potter's still live in the vicinity to this day. I will see if I can dig up some of my things and let u know exactly what I have.
I do not live in San Angelo anymore, as I graduated, and live in California now. I go to the Los Angeles Genealogical Library, but have not had the opportunity to research Potter's as of yet. Let me know if u are interested in anything I may have and I will be glad to share anything i have with you. Glad to meet another cousin!

Mae

Thomas ... If you will email me direct, I'll scan the article and send it to you. It is in the book "Wagons, Ho! - A History of Real County, Texas". And yes, Rio Frio Cemetery is in Real County.
shari.sitz@gmail.com
Leakey is on US 83 about half way between Uvalde and Junction (a little closer to Uvalde). I have a copy of the transcription made in 1992 by Virginia Buchanan and Marjorie Kellner. I visited the cemetery one time about 10 years ago. I know it is in the town of Leakey but not the exact street. I will be happy to do look ups for you in the Leakey Floral Cemetery or anyone else that might need one.

I was interested to see that you are now living in the San Angelo area as I am interested in making contact with Potter descendants in that area. I am descended from the Rev. Andrew Jackson Potter through his son William, and would very much like to find any photos that might exist of William and his wife who are my great grandparents. Since Bill died tragically, I would also like to find someone in the family who might know family about the causes of that. I have done extensive research on the New Mexico Potters which is quite interesting.

Mae-
Thank you so much for your reply. You are just the cousin I've been needing to meet! I would like copies of the cemetery photos you have. I know from his obituary that my great grandfather William was buried in Mountainview in San Angelo and I assume he was probably buried near the others. I would also like photos of Mary Potter Jennings and the gravesites in Bunton. Also any addresses of Potters in San Angelo that you might have.

I have written a 50 page narrative of the Potter family which is almost complete. I believe that I have been able to connect them to a Potter who served with George Washington at Valley Forge and for sure I have information on the New Mexico Potters (Jack, William, and John) and quite a few references including a book with a drawing of AJ Potter, a web site with photos of him, and references to the stories of old Texas and New Mexico and the cattle drives by his son Jack, who was the New Mexico state legislator. I am visiting northern New Mexico this summer for more research.

I live in Japan so please contact me at my email address there.
jturner@sunny-net.ne.jp
Jan
