David Edward HUFFMON was the first Sheriff of Real Co., TX
BIOGRAPHY: Most of the children moved after their fathers death, but David Edward Jr. remained and they made their home on what is now the Sansom Ranch. When Real County was organized, he was made the first Sheriff.
The original name Huffman was changed to HUFFMON after the Civil War.
The first HUFFMON families lived at the Ash Creek location, the West Frio location, Panther Springs, and at Bluff Creek.
BIOGRAPHY: He was 21 years old when he moved to the Frio Canyon with his parents.
