Thanks very much for that. William Harrell son of Josiah marries and has a son James W Harrell born 1874 abt. He travels to South Dakota and marries Octavia Langlois the daughter of Joseph Langlois a Canadian. Octavia's mother was Zoe Kensler. Her father William was also a Canadian but a trapper and bridge builder.
Here is a copy of the Obituary for James Harrell's mother in-law.
The attached newspaper article on the death of Mrs Joseph Langlois
Copied from newspaper "the Fairplay", Fort Pierre, Stanley Co., SD., Friday Oct.23, 1908.
"Born at Fort Pierre"
Mrs. Joseph Langlois passed away from this life to the great beyond at the ranch on Bear Creek last Tuesday night, October 20, 1908.
The deceased was essentially a South Dakotaian, the daughter of William Kensler, an American Fur Trader, and was born at old Fort Pierre on Mar 6, 1844.
She was the widow of the late Joseph Langlois who died about two years ago, and the mother of seven children, all being present at the time of death except the oldest son who is in Idaho.
The sons and daughters who were at the bedside were Louis and Henry Langlois, Mrs. Elbert Jones, Mrs. Aquilla E. Ewing, Mrs. James Harrell and Mrs. Ovila La Plant.
Burial took place at the Catholic cemetery at Cherry Creek on Thursday, October 22.
The Fairplay joins a large circle of friends, those who have known this pioneer family through many years, in extending sympathy to those who mourn the loss of one whose loving care and tenderness during childhood can never be forgotten or replaced
Thanks again Steve
