David W. Sutton is listed in our our cemetery book of Parmer County as being born 10/15/1875 and died 9/5/1812, son of David W. and Mary A with the inscription "sleep on love one until we meet again". Plot No.0040-03-00. I don't know any details other than that. I would be happy to research for you if I knew why his parents were in Friona and where they lived. Friona was only four years old when he died. There was nothing here but a depot, and cowoys on the XIT Ranch. Judy Cassady Cummings

Jim and Nora were my grandparents. My mother is their daughter, Linda who was born in Friona in 1953 and Olivia (Libby) is my aunt who was born in 1969. My mom and I were just scanning pictures today and we were talking about Elizabeth McCormick and Walter Goodman Huffstatler. My grandparents, Mom, and aunt are the only ones that went by the name Huffstickler as the Army changed my grandpa's name so he could fight for the U.S. Army in WWII. Grandpa Jim passed away on December 24th, 1984 and Grandma Nora passed away on May 13, 1986. My mom lives in Wyoming and Aunt Libby lives in Utah since my grandparents passed away.

I was lucky enough to get in touch with Ernest Ramm and his wife Mary Alice of Parmer County shortly after my post. They are such wonderful people. Not Sure you are still online... I have a Parmer county book done in 1980's...has Eddie & Minnie Ramm in it.

Eddie Ramm came with his parents from Copperas cove, Tx in 1923 to farm in the West Camp community in Bailey County. Albert Ramm bought a section of grass land for $15.00 an acre. A snow storm came and it snowed from Dec 7 till sometime in Jan. It was during this time that the Ramms hauled lumber and all their belongings out from Farwell depot with horses and wagons. Eddie farmed with his father until he married.
On Jan 3 1928, Eddie Ramm married Minnie KUBE from Lariat. They moved into a little huse on his fathers farm and lived there for 2 years. Our first child, Fred was born here. Then we bought 320 acres of part sod grass land for 25.00 an acre 2-1/2 miles south of Lariat on Rt. 2, Muleshoe, TX. In 1930 Ernest was born. Eddie farmed with horses and mules on dry land until he bought his first tractor in 1940.

There is more on his farm, looks like Eddie or Minnie were reciting the story themselves.

Children were Ernest, married Mary Bauer in 1955; Fred moved to Carthage, MO in 1965 and is a rancher; Alice married Carroll Huggins.

My father's name is James Walter Huffstickler, he is 60 years old and lives in NJ. His father, Leroy Jerrell Huffstickler is still alive at 95, he is the last sibling of 8 Huffstickler children. He is very sharp and remembers a lot. His father was Walter Huffstickler and his mother was Carrie Gaskill. He tells me that his father was one of 10 children, all from Gastonia NC. Any information? Anyone? Our clan of Huffsticklers has grown here in NJ with only two Huffstickler men to carry on our legacy. It seems that our boys have girl children and our girls have boy children.

Edward W. Ramm was originally from Copperas Cove, Coryell County, Texas. He had brothers who may have lived in the area, also. His brothers were Alvin Albert Ramm (died in California) and Walter Ramm.

Looking for an Obituary - Radford

I'm looking for my biological father, Willie James Radford, and I think I might have found his mother, Willie Mae Radford on the SSDI. She died in Parmer County, TX in 1990. I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can go about finding an obit for her (if there was one), to see if I've got the right woman. Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated.

Clayburn Merrin Carr was my father an Audaline was my mother. Homer, who you replied to is my nephew, son of Merrin Ray Carr, who lives in Bovina, TX. I live in Broken Arrow OK. I remember Aunt Jessie very well. She visited us when I was 14 right before my dad passed away with cancer. I also remember Aunt Effie, who moved away to Maryland, and Uncle Burt down in Texas, Aunt Julia, Texas, Uncle Joe, I'm not sure where he moved to. My grandmother, Susan is buried in a cemetery in Hereford, TX. My brother, Ray found this out from a cousin. I also have a sister, Latrelle who lives in Cumby, TX, and my sister, Sue passed away about 7 years ago. I would love to find out more about my Carr family. I am your father's cousin, although I have never met him. I know very little about the Carrs, except for Aunt Effie.

I am also looking for William A Parmer, father of Charles Benjamin Parmer. What information do you have so far? This family has been a question for a long time. Let's compare notes and see if something fits together.
What I know is that Charles Benjamin (CB) PARMER was born in Cedar Rapids, IA on July 30, 1882. to William A PARMER and Mary E BURKETT. I do not know what happened to him between then and Dec 1930 when his son (my father) was born in Kansas. They later moved to Missouri.

You have posted to the PARMER county board instead of posting to the PARMER surname board. Are these people from Parmer county Texas?

It would help to know when Sharon Kay Parma Bunce was born and where.

Would anyone be able to do a cemetery look-up for me? Evalina Catherine (Coker) Gaines and her husband James Samuel Gaines are buried in Bovina, she died in 1974, he died in 1933. I work in the Tarrant County archives. In going through a box here, I found 6 abstracts dealing with Parmer County. One is of interest, since it goes into more detail on early history. York, Their first Child was Henry clay London and he was born in Sept,1896. I also need if there are any birth records for

Carl Jackson Huber, born 9th Feb 1932; parents Mabel Butcher and Paul Huber. Paul may have had a brother, Leo M. Huber who also had a child in 1933 in same county.

Two SSDI records show following:
Paul E. Huber 12 Aug 1906 - 9 Dec 1992 McClennan County.
Paud D. Huber 15 Dec 1911 - 28 May 1998 Harris County.

Unable to find a Paul Huber in 1930 census but found Leo M. Huber in Bailey County residing with family. His father's name was Carl.

There is a S.M. Carr listed as dying on that date in Parmer.
She had a son named Clayburn Carr. I found records of a Clayburn Carr living in Parmer in the 1930's married to Audaline Mann. If any of this sounds familiar please reply.

Harvey Whitehead registered for the draft in World War I while in Parmer County, Texas. He was born in Breckenridge, Stephens Co., Texas on 19 March 1896. When a young man he moved to Sayre, Beckham Co., Oklahoma. His full name was William Harvey Whitehead, though he went by his middlename. Relatives remembered him being in Portales, New Mexico. His brother was Joe Whitehead and there was a sister Luella; all of Sayre, OK. Harvey, Joe, & Luella were the children of Mary Alice Whitehead, the sister of my Grandfather. I would like to know what happened to Harvey & if he left any descendants.

Looking for information on Jackson (or Farrell or Ferrell) Butcher born in Illinois about 1868/1869. He married Ida and they had at least two daughters named Hazel and Mabel who were born in Oklahoma.

Jackson's father was Amos Woodward Butcher who was born in Maryland.

I may be of some help to you. I was married to their son. We were married for 4 years. His name is Ralph Olin Jones. He and I had 2 children. A boy "Randy Olin Jones". Randy was born on March 28, 1965. A Girl "Lisa Annette Jones". She was born on May 10, 1966.
They have an aunt Virginia, aunt Jerabee, & aunt Patsy. It has been too long for me to remember their married names.
We were in the military. We lived in California for most of our marriage.
