I am looking for any info on Charles Ennis Moore B 1878/80 d 1931 Married Martha(Martna)Garner(gainer)d 1946. Children Raymond 1900-1945, Ollie 1902-?, Farris 1904-?, Willie 1905-?, Opal 1906-?, Florence 1908-?, GEorge 1909-?, Doyl 1911-?, Rad 1913-?, and Daisy 1917-?.
The main things that I am looking for are the Parents of Charles E moore. I am told that he was Full Blooded Indian. problem is that I can't find anything on who his parents are.

Looking for genealogical information regarding Lura Josephine (Hanson) Ravia, who died in Dumas, Moore County, TX in 1989. Lura was married to my great-uncle, Grover Cleveland Ravia. I have not been able to verify their marriage date of January 11, 1911, and I don't know their place of marriage either. They lived in Texhoma, TX or OK around 1915. Based on burial information of her father-in-law, Peter Celestine Ravia, it appears that Lura had at least one other relative living in Texhoma at one time, named E. A. Hanson. Lura was born on March 3, 1889, location unknown to me. Her SSDI record on rootsweb.com indicates that her SSN was issued in California. Any information about her parents, siblings, marriage, and children would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

He married Catherine Hollingshouse (and various other spellings), a German immigrant, in Calhoun Co. TX. They had 8 children. He was a seaman and was a blockade runner in the Civil War. He lived in Galveston for 30 years according to his obit.

I just got a copy of my grandfathers obit and listed is an uncle that I never even heard of before. My mother said she never heard of him either. It lists him as Billy Bob Payne living in Dumas, TX. I was hoping if anyone has access to an old directory they might look to see if he is listed. Maybe Bill or William?

I did try to find him in the Texas Birth records but he wasn't listed. But then again, neither was I! I really don't know what else to do. It seems as if there are alot of things both sides of my family just doesn't talk about.

To whom ever reads this could you please help me in my search to find my grandmother and a possible aunt.My grandmother would be in her mid 60's and my aunt would be in her late 30's. (not positive have never personally met them) Grandmothers name would be Bertha Mae Wilson ( madien name Anslow) but had a daughter Tammy Hill . Bertha was married in the 60's to my grandfather Kenneth L Wilson Sr. , and a few years later they were divorced. During there marriage they had 2 children together. A daughter (terri - my mother) and a son (my uncle- kenneth Wilson jr.). I am searching for these women for medical reasons. THIS IS VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT. Last know place was OK and TX. I would like to hear from anyone who has any information on these people. I think they might be the parents to my Martha Jane Moore. What I have is: Martha was born in 1840 in Hawkins County, TN. In 1850 she was in Greene County, TN and 1860 she was in Roane County, TN and by October she was in Grayson County, TX and married to a Francis Marion Key. Martha stated that both her parents were born and died in TN. I have a letter from a daughter of hers that stated her mothers maiden name was Fishner (it could have been Fisher or Fischner). There was never any mention of her mother and fathers first names. I know she had at least one sister. Knowing how people back then liked to try to name their children after family members I thought maybe Martha's daughter Rosa Catherine Key could have gotten the name from Rosannah. Very anixous for any information, we have been looking for these people for a very long time.

Annice Anderson RItes Held at First Methodist

Funerral services for Mrs. Annice Florine Anderson, 79, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with Rev Bob May and Rev Bob Warford officiating. Burial was in Lee Cemetery under the direction of McCrary-Edwards-Cain Funeral Home.

Mrs. Anderson died at her home Thursday.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Anderson, Winnsboro, one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Jo Allen, Winnsboro, one son, Barney E. Anderson, Shreveport, La, two sisters, Mrs. Olga McElyea, Winnsboro, and Mrs. Doris Jernigan, Tyler, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Anderson was born Sept 3, 1906, to James Quintus and Mary Alice Thompson Beard. On March 28, 1925, she married Paul Anderson, who survives. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Women, in which she served in various official duties and had a life membership pin.

Nephews who served as pallbearers were Chock Beard, Wayne Scott, McKay Moore, John Paul Moore, Albert Roy Turner, and Bob Beard.

Honary pallbearers were Carl Gilbreath, Basil Gibson, Jake Martin, Frank White, Hubert Harris, Dr. Warren Murley and Rex Beard.

The Brown's adopted my grandfather in 1915 from the children's home in Ft Worth. I think that Mr Brown may have died Oct 1 1937. Known Children of James and Fanny were John P, Jackson, Nancy who married James Hutton, Peggy who married Mclemore? and Kennard, Catherine ( Katty ), and Lucy who Married J A Johnson. All the children imergrated first to Texas in 1836/37 and then to the OKla Indian Territory in 1849/1869.

I am looking for death date and any other available information on my great grandfather, Isaac Cummings, born August 13, 1860 in Burnet County, TX. Married (1)Annie Elizabeth Davis (2)Adeline Gray. Isaac was the son of Charles Chittenden and Mary Anne Hoover Cummings.
After his first wife died, Isaac and his second wife moved to Moore County or so I am told. He is said to have died there. Family members receive oil lease checks from Moore County.

I'm specifically looking for Edgar L. Byrd and his wife Myrtle Dooley and the two girls they had, one Delpha Byrd born in 1924 and the other name unknown. They went to public school in Dumas. We would like to find out the other daughter's name and where Myrtle is buried as she died when the children were young around 1933. The other daughter would have been born between 1916 and 1926. Edgar left the girls in Myrtle's parents care we were told and left for CA and then came back to west TX and married my grandmother. Service held for city man

Services and burial were held Tuesday Alvin L. Ormiston, 79, of 509 Pecan, who died Saturday in Memorial Hospital.

Born in Seward County, Kan., Mr. Ormiston retired from Panhandle Eastern Pipeline after 38 years of service. He had been a resident of Moore county for 25 years.

Mr. Ormiston was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dumas and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Satanta, Kan.

Survivors are his wife, Velna [Johnson] Ormiston; a son, Gale Ormiston of East Brunswick, N.M.; two daughters, Gwen Bonner of Liberal, Kan., and Gay Bradford of Irving; a brother, Francis Ormiston of Kismet, Kan., six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Kismet, Kan., Cemetery, after services at First United Methodist Church in Dumas. Officiating were Deacon Wayne Norrell of Christ the King Catholic Church in Sunray and Bill Lackey.

The family has requested that memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements were made by Morrison Funeral directors of Dumas.

Velna Rosamond Ormiston

Funeral services for Velna Rosamond [Johnson] Ormiston, 77, 509 Pecan, were held Tuesday, March 22, in the First United Methodist Church of Dumas.

Officiating was the Rev. Wayne Norrell, deacon of the Christ the King Catholic Church of Sunray. He was assisted by the Rev. Richard Edwards, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Dumas.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 22, in Kismet Cemetery.

Mrs. Ormiston died Saturday, March 19, in Memorial Hospital of Dumas.

Born Sept. 9, 1916, in Mulvane, Kan., she had been a Dumas and Moore County resident since 1954. She was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church of Dumas.

Mrs. Ormiston married Alvin L. Ormiston on March 16, 1937, in Liberal, Kan. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 19, 1989.

A member of the Moore County Home Demonstration Club, she was a former active 4-H and Girl Scout leader.

The family has requested that memorials be made to Meals on Wheels or a favorite charity.

Survivors include one son, Gale Ormiston of East Brunswick, N.J.; two daughters, Gwen Bonner of Dumas and Gay Bradford of Arlington; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas was in charge of funeral arrangements.

John Jessie BAIN and Pearl Ann (?) and their four boys moved to Moore County from Kansas probably around 1920 or 1930. John Jessie BAIN died in Dumas on Apr 30, 1958 and Pearl Ann BAIN died also in Dumas on May 18, 1951. They are buried at the Dumas Cemetery.
Their children were: Russell, 1910; Leonard, 1909; Harley, 1907; Harold, 1905.
I would like to find out If the children stayed in Moore County and if so, are there any descendants there now.
I need b, m, d dates and places for the children and various other information on the family.
John Jessie was my grandmother's brother. She was Verna True Bain if anyone wants information on her, or on John and Verna's parents and siblings.

Searching for any records on Norris Houck, b. 1883 in Tully, Onondaga Co., NY and d. May 15, 1950 in Sunray, Moore Co.,TX. Norris was a watch maker and/or jeweler in Moore Co. for many years. Also his brother LeRoy Houck, b. 1878 in Tully, NY and d. February 25, 1946. LeRoy supposedly lived in Washington state and I think he died in Sunray according to information from distant relatives.
