I AM INTERESTED IN THE CHEROKEE INDIAN BLOOD, I HAVE INFORMATION THAT READS THAT NANCY'S MOTHER, MARGARET BARR WHO MARRIED MY VERY DISTANT GGGGG GRANDFATHER, RICHARD THOMPSON, WAS CHEROKEE INDIAN. I HAVE THE NAMES OF NANCY'S CHILDREN, THERE WERE 5 SONS AND 2 DAUGHTERS. I WOULD LIKE TO CONNECT WITH DECENDANTS OF THESE CHILDREN. DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THE "WILLIAM MOORE" LINE?

Linda,

I am researching my WILLIAMSON and THOMPSON line.

Richard THOMPSON was married to Margaret BARR and also to Elizabeth MOORE.

Elizabeth MOORE apparently was a Cherokee Indian. It is my understanding that there is paperwork at the Lawrence County, Kentucky courthouse regarding Richard 's marriage to a Cherokee by the last name of MOORE.

Is this paperwork something that you have obtained a copy of and are willing to share? If you do not have a copy of it I will send and see what I can get and am willing to share, just let me know.

HI ANN GILMORE, THIS IS EXCITING, YOU ARE THE ONLY PERSON THAT I HAVE CONNECTED WITH IN REGARDS TO PAPERWORK ON ELIZABETH MOORE I HAVE MANY INFORMATIONS THAT READS ONLY "ELIZABETH UNKNOWN", BUT ONE I HAVE SAYS "MOORE". YOU HAVE CONFIRMED THAT IT IS "MOORE". I HAVE CONNECTED WITH MANY, MANY RESEARCHERS ON RICHARD THOMPSON AND THESE LADIES AND THEIR CHILDREN, ALSO IF THEY WERE CHEROKEE INDIAN. I HAVE SEARCHED FOR OVER ONE YEAR AND YOU ARE THE FIRST PERSON WHO SAYS THERE IS PAPERWORK AT THE LAWRENCE CO., KY. COURTHOUSE REGARDING RICHARD'S MARRIAGE TO A CHEROKEE BY THE LAST NAME OF MOORE, THEREFORE I DON'T HAVE A COPY OF IT, BUT WOULD LOVE A COPY, I WILL PAY YOU FOR IT, LINDA THOMPSON CLEMENS, 33 BLUEBIRD LANE, CLARK FORK, IDAHO, 83811. PLEASE EMAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW THAT YOU HAVE READ THIS, THANKS A MILLION FOR A "POT OF GOLD" FOR ME, LINDA

Linda,

Don't get too excited too soon! I have not yet documented that the maiden name of Elizabeth was MOORE and I have not yet documented that she was an Indian or even the wife of Richard THOMPSON.

I received an email from Ken who says he lives in Lawrence County and that he has never found anything that proves either the MOORE name or the Indian theory. So, it is still an uphill battle to find the truth but I will work on it.

Hopefully, there are others who are actually searching for documentation and not just taking the word of those who have not really done any research and that they will share with us.

Ann

Margaret Barr was not a Cherokee Indian, Richard had a common law wife named Elizabeth, she was a Cherokee Indian, Elizabeth had three girls, Margaret, Rebecca, and Nancy, Nancy married William Moore, Rebecca married John L Berry, Margaret married Johns brother Jubal Berry.
