I am trying to see if any male Maddox descendants of the marriage of Henly Noland Maddox and Mary Henrietta Miller still live in Milam County, TX or other parts of the USA. Henly and Mary immigrated from Mississippi to Milam County, TX around 1869, since the 1880 Federal census of Milam County shows their son Thomas Maddox as being 10 years old and born in TX. They were listed in Precinct 5 of Milam County as Henry M. and Mary H Maddox. The 1930 census of Milam County shows one of their sons Henly N. and his wife Clara, and their son Henly and his wife Violet still living in Milam County, Justice Precinct 1.
Also, I found a son of Thomas, Roland L. Maddox listed as being buried in May 1984 in the Val Verde Baptist Church Cemetery. I belong to the Maddox DNA project and need to find a living male Maddox descendant of Henly and Mary for purposes of possibibly obtaining a DNA sample from him. The DNA project only tests the DNA that is passed from father to son sharing the family surname, adopted children will not pass on the Maddox family genes. The test is painless, only takes a saliva sample to compare. I will really appreciate any help you may give me in locating a living male descendant of Henly and Mary Maddox.
