CAMERON — Graveside services for Clay William Kruse, 48, of Cameron were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, at Walkers Creek Cemetery near Cameron with Rev. Gary Maroney officiating.
Mr. Kruse died Tuesday, Sept. 4, at a Temple hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Bryan to William Lucien and Joan E. Kruse.
He graduated from Yoe High School in Cameron where he played tennis and football.
Mr. Kruse attended Texas A&M University where he was a member of the 1978 football team that won the Hall of Fame Bowl and he also lettered on the wrestling team.
He then attended the University of Bath in England and later UCLA. He graduated from the Ringling Brothers Clown College.
Mr. Kruse was a member of the Screen Actors Guild.
After returning to Central Texas, he participated in several Temple Civic Theater productions. He was an active member of the Mensa Society and was a member of First Baptist Church in Cameron.
Survivors include his parents, William and Joan Kruse of Cameron; two brothers, Cody Kruse and wife Georgia of Richardson, Kyle Kruse and wife Rhonda of Cameron; also, five nieces and nephews.
