Michael Lynn McCoy, 44, lifelong resident of Thorndale, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13 in the Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Minister Jeff Stull and Rev. Nita Newman of Pleasant Retreat Methodist Church, near Thorndale, officiating.

Mr. McCoy, a self employed carpenter, was born Jan. 25, 1963 in Galveston to Herschel and Helen “Joyce” (Stolte) McCoy.

He married Jackie Faye Walton on May 8, 1993 in Taylor.

He enjoyed hunting arrowheads, rocks, bull riding, coaching Pop Warner football, hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. He was a graduate of Thorndale High School.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie McCoy of Thorndale; three sons, Christopher Craig Johnson of Thorndale, Roger Kole McCoy of Thorndale and Rowdy James McCoy of Thorndale; daughter, Lyndsi Donn McCoy and spouse RJ Sandoval of Taylor; parents, Herschel and Joyce McCoy of Thorndale; three brothers, Tommy McCoy and wife Denise, James McCoy and wife Vanissa and Kevin McCoy and wife Karen, all of Thorndale; sister, Kim McCoy Jordan and husband Bill of Thorndale; two grandmothers, Zula Stolte of Rockdale and Maurine McCoy of Taylor; grandchild, Reese Jordan Sandoval of Taylor.

Honorary pallbearers include Keith Leschber, Kevin Leech, Jesse Hilton, Dennis Owens, James Jones, Seth Jordan, Joey Hiney, Teddy Jo Gailey, Leslie Moerbe, Sammie Johnson, Clint Adams, Craig Jordan, Randy Mayfield, Carter Travis, Jim Fisher, Anthony Niemtschk, Kenneth Vrana, Roger Pack, Darren Vicknair, Steven Stolte and Stewart Scruggs.
