Clay William Kruse, 48, of Cameron died Sept. 4 at a Temple hospital. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Walkers Creek Cemetery near Cameron with Rev. Gary Maroney officiating. Family visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kruse was born on July 13, 1959 to William Lucien and Joan E. Kruse.

He graduated from C. H. Yoe High School where he played tennis and football. He attended Texas A & M where he was a member of the 1978 football team that won the Hall of Fame Bowl and he also lettered on the wrestling team.

Kruse then attended the University of Bath in England and later UCLA. He graduated from the Ringling Brothers Clown College. He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild. After returning to Central Texas, he participated in several Temple Civic Theater productions. He was also an active member of the MENSA Society. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron.

Survivors include his parents; brothers, Cody Kruse and wife, Georgia, of Richardson and Kyle Kruse and wife, Rhonda, of Cameron; and five nieces and nephews.
