Genoveva Sosa Galvan, 84, of Cameron died Aug. 16. in a Cameron hospital. Funeral services were Aug. 20 at St. Monica's Catholic Church In Cameron with Rev. Chris Coleman officiating. Burial followed at the St. Monica's Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 29, 1922 in Gonzales County to Luciano and Rosa (Lopez) Sosa.

Galvan, a homemaker and was married for over 60 years to Juan Galvan. She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Galvan; son, Jimmy Galvan; brother, Dionicio Sosa; sisters Maria Gonzales and Lupita Sosa.

Survivors include son Ernest Galvan, of Cameron; daughters, Sally Vega, Mary Ann Ruelas and Paula Vargas, all of Cameron; brother, Luicano Sosa, Jr., of Tahoka; sisters, Tiodora Alejandre, of Corpus Christi, Isabel Ramirez and Pabla Munoz, both of Cameron.; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
