Mable (Bobbie) Hanson Anthis, 87, of Palacios died Aug. 23 at the Port Lavaca Nursing and Rehab Center. Graveside services were held Aug. 27 at the Liberty Cemetery near Milano.
Anthis was born Oct. 13, 1919 in Minnesota.
She was married to Joseph Horton Anthis, Jr.
She was remembered as the manager of the MooMoo Milk Store in the 1960s and her work in the high school cafeteria in the 1970s. She was a seamstress, upholsterer, and wood furniture restorer for many years. She was also a part-time inn-keeper at Luther Hotel in the 1990s.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, her infant daughter, Jeanie Belle Anthis, and her son-in-law, Clarence G. Ripke, Jr.
Survivors include sons, Roger Smith and wife, Charlotte, of LaCresenta, CA, Jodie Anthis and wife, Nancy, of Huntsville, and Leon Anthis of Palacios; daughter, Roberta Ripke of Palacios; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
