CAMERON - Ivie Dell Blackmon Braden, 70 of Cameron died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007 in a Temple hospital. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Saturday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Shuffield officiating. Burial followed in the Liberty Cemetery.

Mrs. Braden was born Dec. 27, 1936 in Rockdale to Hosea Lee and Ivie (Dickey) Blackmon.

She married Billy Ray Braden on Feb. 23, 1952.

A lifelong resident of Milam County, she worked for the Veteran’s Café in Temple for several years and was also a newspaper carrier for the Temple Daily Telegram. She was a member of the Battetown Baptist Church.

Her daughter, Lisa Aynn Williams preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray Braden of Cameron; three sons, Randy Braden of Winter Park, FL, Tommy Braden of Vidor and Roger Braden of Caldwell; two daughters, Debbie Halsey and Karen Scott, both of Cameron; two sisters, Sadie Nickels and Madie Threadgill, both of Cameron; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
