Ella “Tut” Kokel, 83, of Buckholts since 1994 and formerly of Del Valle, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2007 at the King’s Daughter Hospital in Temple. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1 at the West Taylor Immanuel Lutheran Church in Taylor with Rev. Jack Bohls officiating. Burial followed in the West Taylor Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.

She was born July 12, 1924 in Hutto to Richard Kruger and Lena Brinkmeyer Kruger.

She married Richard Otis Kokel on Oct. 26, 1943 at West Taylor Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Kokel worked for the State of Texas Comptroller’s Office.

She was preceded in death by her husband on June 24, 2001 and her parents.

Survivors include son, Gary Lynn Kokel of Bartlett; two sisters, Evelyn Roberts of Rockdale and Jeanette Pfluger Fox of Odem; two brothers-in-law, Hubert Kuempel of Pflugerville and Herman Kokel and wife Jeannie of Austin; three sisters-in-law, Frances Kruger and Marie Kruger, both of Hutto and Ann Kruger of Pflugerville.

Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
