CAMERON - Genoveva Sosa Galvan, 84, of Cameron, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007 in a Cameron hospital. Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20 at St. Monica’s Catholic Church with Rev. Chris Coleman officiating. Burial followed in the St. Monica’s Cemetery.
Mrs. Galvan, a homemaker, was born Dec. 29, 1922 in Gonzales County to Luciano and Rosa (Lopez) Sosa.
She was married for over 60 years to Juan Galvan who preceded her in death earlier this year.
She was a member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Galvan; a brother, Dionicio Sosa; two sisters, Maria Gonzales and Lupita Sosa.
Survivors include son, Ernest Galvan of Cameron; three daughters, Sally Vega, Mary Ann Ruelas and Paula Vargas, all of Cameron; brother, Luciano Sosa, Jr. of Tahoka; three sisters, Isabel Ramirez of Cameron, Pabla Munoz of Cameron and Tiodora Alejandre of Corpus Christi; 21 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
