Bette Jane Burgess, 76, of Rockdale for the past 57 years, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 at Manor Oaks Nursing Center in Rockdale.

Ms. Burgess, a homemaker.

She was born Nov. 7, 1930 in Brownwood to John Henry Burgess and Nettye Hamil.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, J. E. Burgess; sister, Nora Anderson.

Survivors includes a brother, J. C. Burgess of Nederland; sister, Billie Turner of Mineral Wells; several nieces and nephews.
