CAMERON - Funeral services for Claude D. Sanders, 71, of Cameron were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2007, at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Wayne Shuffield officiating. Burial followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Sanders died Thursday, Aug. 9, in a Temple hospital.

The retired owner/operator of Sanders Corner Stop.

He was born Jan. 15, 1936, in Cameron to Johnnie and Emmer Etta Sanders.

Mr. Sanders was a U.S. Army veteran.

His wife, Rose Marie, preceded him in death in 1996, as well as a brother, Johnnie J. Sanders.

Survivors include a son, Johnnie D. Sanders and wife Cindy of Cameron; two daughters, Donna Ebertowski and husband Bennie of Salado, Claudette Kirk and husband Ricky of Cameron; two brothers, Leroy Sanders and Richard Lane, both of Cameron; a sister, Betty Jane Luckey of Temple; and a longtime companion, Sue Tindall of Cameron; also, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
