Funeral services for Betty Joe Rhea, 86, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2007, in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville with Rev. Derald Dugger officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Rockdale. Mrs. Rhea died Monday, Jan. 22, in Round Rock.

Mrs. Rhea was born May 17, near Rockdale to Bonnie Mundine and Fanilee Sheppard Mundine.

She was employed as bookkeeper and office manager of The Rockdale Reporter during the 1940s and 1950s, prior to moving to the Austin area.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband J. C. Jordan in 1944; husband Boyd B. Rhea, Sr. in 1983; and a brother, Don Mundine.

Survivors are her daugher and husband, Charlene and Leon McCaa of Round Rock; a sister, Mary Hope Bryant of Austin; four grandchildren, Kathey Lozano of Belton, Nathan McCaa and wife Marsha of Troy, Christi Criger of Brady and Matthew McCaa of Brady; and six great-grandchildren, Chris, Noah, Tyrell, Emily, Chandler and Ryker; also, four nieces and a nephew, along with many friends.
