Any information regarding the murder of J.Y. Criswell in Aug 1888 and any subequent arrests or inditements. It is known that JYC was convicted of horse theft in McCulloch County in late 1887. The conviction was overturned on appeal in Feb 1888 and a new trial ordered. JYC's murder occurred before he could be re-tried. His murderers, to the best of my knowledge, were never identifed or brought to justice. Any info would be appreciated.
