Did Tom Bean Leave a Will?

BONHAM, Tex., Aug. 22.—An old German
about 70 years of age, claiming to be from
Kerr county, Texas., arrived here several
days ago. He says his name is D. McMillen;
that Tom Bean, two years before his death,
was in Austin, and while there, made a will
disposing of his entire estate to the widows'
and orphans' home of Texas; that the will
is now in Austin and that by the direction
of the testator, the executor is to hold it
until a certain time in order to see how many
claimants would appear, claiming his vast
estate, and after they are all in at the proper
time, the executor is to produce the will in
court, thereby defeating the army of claimants.
People here are amused at the old man's
tale and think it all a fake. However, McMillen
says he came all the way from Kerr county
to be in attendance on the court for fear that
the case would come to trial.
