Do you know his date of death? If so, there's a chance there may have been an obituary published. I don't remember how far back the microfilmed Kerrville papers go, but I do know it was pretty early.

Failing that, there may be a death record on file at the county courthouse. I don't know Kerr county's policy about access to death records older than 50 years, but this, too, is worth a try.
