He went by nickname "Guff" LaFoon (LaFoone/LaFon)and was from Virginia. He worked for Al Jay as a cow herder for awhile. By 1930 he owned a "Filling Station" in Jayton and had a "wrecker Service". I have found very little information on him. His true name may be Addison J. LaFoon.
In 1900 he was listed as J. Y. LaFoone on census records.
