Hi Brenda, you are more than welcome, I am always glad see family together from the past, and the present life. My baby brother was adopted at birth, (now 35) but he does know his other family, my mother always wanted him to know where he came from. My mother is awsome that way. I am glad that you are helping your son to know where he came from. I wish the best for you both. You have a nice family tree, and hopefully now, it will only get better. Bryghtstar

I believe Jacob Robert Wilson's brother is James Wesley Wilson (b. Feb. 29, 1844 d. April 8, 1904). I'm a descendant of James Wesley Wilson. James Wesley Wilson married Sarah Emily Green and lived in Hardeman County, TN and is buried in Middleburg Cemetery. We have been looking for his brother's family. Could never find a J.R. that was in Tennessee and moved to Texas!

Here is the rest of the children on the 1860 census.
Name: Robert R Wilson
Age in 1860: 52
Birth Year: abt 1808
Birthplace: South Carolina
Home in 1860: District 1, Lauderdale, Alabama
Gender: Male
Post Office: Rogersville
Value of real estate: View image
Household Members:
Name Age
Robert R Wilson 52
Drucilla Wilson 48
Susan A Caul 21
Martha R Wilson 18
James Wesley 16
Salina E Wesley 14
Silvia E Wesley 12
Eliza Irena Wesley 9
Benjamen F Wesley 7

Darlene Sawyer
pdsawyer@comcast.net

View Texas Death Certificates online. http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start When the window opens, click-Advanced Search, enter John White as the father, and Florence Garnett as the mother. Enter Texas, United States in the location box then click search. That will retrieve certificates for Hugh White (5 May 1884 - 8 Jun 1973), William Garnett White (19 Jul 1880 - 22 Jan 1956), and Ethel White Massengill (17 Jun 1891 - 18 Jul 1953). Retrieve Wade White's (2 Aug 1886 - 6 May 1960) certificate by clicking-Basic Search and entering his name in the appropriate fields. Oddly, your father listed his granny as "Florence Hill" on Wade's certificate? Hugh White and your granny Ethel were siblings, thus Hugh was your great uncle. The author of the original question has not been active, under that username, for several years. On the 1900 census of Kaufman County-Precinct 3-District 74-Page 40, John W. and Florance White were parents of seven children, six of which were born in Nebraska. The siblings were: Mary F.(Apr 1878), William G.(Jul 1880), John T.(Jun 1882), Hugh(May 1884), Wade H.(Aug 1886), Ethel(Jun 1889), and Francis G.(Apr 1892). From her other messages, I believe the original questioner possibly married one of Hugh White's descendants? Hope this motivates you to research your history? I am not related!

We have a copy of Alford's death certificate also.

Thank you for clearing up some of the family's confusing information.
Callie Strait married J.E. Sealy in Kaufman county on 15 May 1892. J.E. Sealy was James Edward Sealy from Mississippi. On 1900 census they were residing in Oktibbeha County, MS. On 1910 Census they were residing in Delta County, TX. On 1920 Census they were residing in Paris, Lamar County, TX. On the 1930 Census ( The latest one available) they were residing in Commerce, Hunt County, TX. J.E. Sealy died in July 1949 and is buried in Malakoff, Henderson County, TX. I need to find out who Callie Strait's parents were. According to information on all of the censuses her parents were both born in Mississippi and Callie was born in Texas in Aug 1875. Would also like to know when and where Callie died and where she is buried.

Dorothy, I know this is an old post and you may not get this message. I am a local genealogist and curious. What is your fathers name and date of death? His death certificate should list the cemetery he is in. But if he is in an unmarked grave you will most likely not be able to find the spot he is in. I love enumerating cemeteries and it bothers me and other people who enumerate that there are so many people lost in the unmarked graves. No one should be forgotten. If you get this send me his info ok?

Kaufman City Cemetery enumeration is now online

I don't believe (could be wrong) there has ever been an online enumeration for this cemetery because of the large size of it. Many people have contributed their ancestors info to this enumeration and a volunteer named Marie added MANY names. I am now trying to fill in the gaps by walking it (and adding photos one at a time) and by searching death records for people who lie in unmarked graves. I believe it is 1/3- 1/2 way done. Even though it is not quite complete maybe you can find someone you have been looking for? Living photos are welcomed to this site and also bio's for the people buried there- each person has their own memorial page. To visit this enumeration go to:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GScid=1...;

If you know someone is buried there but not listed, please add them. We want to account for as many of these people as we can. Please do not relist someone that is already on the enumeration. If you are a direct descendant just notify the person administrating that page to transfer the page to you and tell them your relation. They are not required to transfer unless it is your parent or grandparent.

I am hoping all marked graves will be listed within a couple more months so check this site again every few weeks for additions.

Hi Lucy,
I am the great granddaughter of Alford Newton York and Mary Wilson. My dad who is 81 recalls that one of Alford's brothers was named Ashley. He is pretty sure about it. I have the death certificate of Alford Newton and it lists his parents names and places of birth. The information was given by his daughter at the time of his death. The places of birth that you mention are what is on the census record but the daughter's information differs. My dad relates that he was of the belief that Mary was full blood german and alford was born in Arkansas maybe Ill. Alford lists as a next of kin on his military registrationh as M C Davis. We don't now if this was a sister, an aunt or daughter. MaryCatherine (daughter) was married several times. I am very interested in corresponding with you about the information you mentioned regarding your husbands family. I think they are mine also.
Linda York-Hudson
birdonmyshoulder@sbcglobal.net

Joshua Miller, 1839-1915, AL-TX

I am looking for descendants of Joshua Miller, especially those through his son Robert Miller, and his daughters, Sennie (Melcenia)Ellis, Cora, Nancy, and Ida. I have several wonderful old photographs of these people, some were identified by Roy Miller, also a descendant of Joshua. I would love to get these photos back to whom they belong. Roy was unable to identify all of them, or give me contact info. I believe Robert had 4 sons, Emmett, Alfred, Herman and Fred. His wife's name was Jean. I do not know the married names of the daughters, except for Sennie who married Phillip Jackson Ellis : their children were: William Burleson, Hattie Alice, Ellen Francis, Elizabeth Mae (called Biddy), and Japho Patrick (called Jay). And also Cora whose married name was Baucom, and was living in Kaufman county in 1928. Joshua Miller and his wife Nancy Barnes and children as well as some of his married children and their families migrated to Navarro County from Blount County, AL in the 1880s. Callie Miller Shaw was one of the daughters who stayed in AL. She was my mother-in-law's mother. I got the photos after she died. Several of the photographs were taken in Hubbard City, some in Corsicana, and one says "Wortham and Kosse, Tex".
