Those are birth records. The actual certificates contain data relevant to the ages, birthplaces, and occupations of both parents. I hesitate to discuss this 'cause all four sisters are probably still living? Why not trace them and simply inquire about their lineage?

I have only found the birth certificates in the Ancestry.com and Family Tree Maker lookups. I have a pretty complete tre on the father JT Ray from a fellow researcher of the RAY family, butthey have nothing on Ernestine or the 4 daughters. I am really stumped here on Ernestine. Was looking for a marriage cert or anything that might give me a little moreinfo aout her parents or birth place/year.

Oops! You would not have copies of their birth certificates unless they approved. Birth records are closed for 75 years and neither lady has reached that point.

Looking for information on Ernestine Evans, mother of Wanda Joyce Ray(1945),Joy Evelyn Ray(1946),Jerri Lynn Ray(1948)and Jo Ann Ray(1949), The father listed on the girl's birth certificates is JT Ray. I cannot find any info on Ernestine other than her name on said certificates.

Yes, there is a partial pedigree viewable on https://familysearch.org/ for Pallis Hensley. Reportedly, he died 29 May 1931 in Gainesville, Cooke County.

I hadn't seen that Leonard was buried in Wortham, Freestone county. I have been trying to find him in the 1910 census and am not able to. I guess I will have to try and find out more about Bessie Burris. I think that Bessie Burris may have married a different Leonard Hensley. The Leonard I am looking for is the son of Pallas Marion Hensley and Sarah Agnes Bailey.

There's a marriage record on https://familysearch.org/ for Bessie Burris, 8 Oct 1913 in Cooke County. His father died there so that's probably accurate. Unfortunately, no trace of Bessie before/after marriage. Leonard reportedly buried in Wortham, Freestone County?

Has anyone ever heard of the "Old Pioneer Cemetery". I have a feeling that it may be a "section" in a larger cemetery. My ancestor was Lewis Richardson and he died in 1883 in Alvarado, Johnson Co TX. Is there eather a reather large or reather old cemetery at Alvarado that would meet such a discription?
Is there a person that is in charge of the cemetery that has a plat book of all the burials?

Think a simple solution might entail a phone call to Grayson County Clerk? http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/cclerks.shtml#M County Clerks have marriages indexed grooms-to-brides, and vice versa, usually in two volumes (early years and more recent). Request a "quickie" lookup in the index for F. M. Ivy. If my reasoning is on target, he wed Margaret G. Thompson, 24 May 1878, in Grayson? Familysearch has F. W. Ivey but that would not be the first time an "M" was mistaken for a "W". If accurate, that'll also probably estimate the demise of Nancy?

I believe Carrie E Ivey/Ivy was also dght of Nancy E Thompson. Carrie E is on the 1880 census, Grayson, TX as bein born MS 1873. Like most children that end up with a step mother at an early age, they classify the step mother as their mother and sometimes don't know their biological mother.

I have a copy of Carrie's DC. She died Aug 30, 1966 in Joshua, Johnson, TX. The same undertaker was used for her, James Clarence Hyatt and Josie Ivey Lane, so I have also contacted them.

I have sent email to a church in Joshua, TX to see if the Ivy's & Hyatt's were members. James C Hyatt was a Baptist preacher in his early days.

I found 3 Baptist Churches listed in Joshua, so I will check with them one by one.

For certain two families are involved in your search. M. S. Ivy was Mary Savannah (nee: Conner) Ivy (5 Jan 1863 - 2 Sep 1901). Her Francis Marion Ivy (24 Dec 1857 - 18 Feb 1926) was born in Georgia and died in Oklahoma. You are correct they did not have a daughter Carrie born ca. 1873. They wed 9 Oct 1881 in Hill County. Carrie's father was 27 years older than the namesake who died in Oklahoma. What death certificate(s) do you plan to order? Apparently there were three kids born to Margaret LNU: Jacob, Carrie, and Minnie? Carrie's husband did not know his mother-in-law. I don't see a death listing for Jacob or Carrie? Perhaps Mississippi Marriages might answer your question? Scratch Jacob 'cause he was born to Nancy Thompson.

The mother of Carrie Ella Ivy Hyatt was Nancy E Thompson born appx 1830 in Mississippi (per 1870 census) who also mother of daughter Jessie E Ivey, Josie E Ivy "Lindly" Lane and Jacob W Ivy all born in Mississippi. Problem is I can not find a Nancy Thompson born in MS in this timeframe in the 1850 & 1860 census records.

Francis Marion then married Margaret G Thompson in Grayson county Texas in 1878 they had Minnie B Ivy in Grayson Co TX 1879. It is unknown if Thompson was Margaret's maiden name as record does not say Miss or Mrs.

It was just coincidence that Francis Marion Ivy, son of James M Ivy & Rebecca, from Walker Co Georgia happened to be in Johnson county in 1900 census.

Josie Ivy married Isaac "Linley/Linsley" in Grayson county 1885 then she married Wm P Lane in Grayson Co 1892. She had one daughter Fay "Linsley" appx 1886. I do not find Josie, William and dtr Fay in 1900 census. I do not find marriage record for Carrie E Ivy to James Clarence Hyatt who was previously married in 1901 in Faulkner Co AR.

His parents were Walter Lawrence Terrell b. TX about 1883 and Fay "Linsley" born in TX abt 1887, widowed mother in law listed as Mrs. W P Lane b. MS abt 1867 in 1920 household in Fort Worth. This was Josie Ivy. Walter Lane Terrell died in El Paso 02 June 1976 retired from post office and a WW II vet wife Lettie was the informant and he is buried at Ft. Bliss Natl Cem. "Josia E Iviey" married Isaac "Linlay/Lindly/Linsley" in Sherman 18 Jane 1885 who are parents of Fay then Josie married W P Lane 25 May 1892 in Grayson County. My family line that I am working on is Carrie E Ivey/Ivy Hyatt, born in MS 1872 and she is buried in Keene Cemetery with this MS Ivy and MS Ivy is listed as 'wife of F. M. -mother. To me this indicates that MS Ivy is Carrie E Ivey Hyatt's mother.

I show Francis Marion (1830) on the 1900 census with son Jacob in Grayson, TX. I than show death date for this same Francis Marion as Jan 30, 1907 and is buried in TX State Cemetery in Austin.

This leads me to believe that the MS Ivy that is buried in Keene cemetery would be Margaret ? Ivy that married FM Ivy around 1878 based on birth of dght Minnie B.

Guess going have to order some certificates to get this one straightened out.

From what you have sent, the Francis Marion born 1857 does not even have a daughter named Carrie.

Does anyone know where Camp Isam was located and what may have happened to it? It was the enlistment site for Co I, Mounted Militia, 1st Regiment, 2nd Brigade of the Texas State Troops (not Confederate Troops) in March 1864. Company I was recruited primarily from Johnson and Hill Counties, so presumably Camp Isam was located in one of those counties.

Family lore says that in 1899 he was working as a mule skinner on the Masden Ranch near Grandview at which time he was kicked in the head by a mule and killed, leaving behind his wife, Missouri Ann Hobbs nee Watson, and 9 kids.

I have a 1900 census showing Missouri (listed as a widow) and children living in Hill Co, TX.

Outstanding!!! I'll pass the baton to you! Seems his father was Earnest/Ernest E. Davis of Louisiana. They're found 1940 OK-Tillman-Frederick-71-6-Image 2 and 1930 OK-Tillman-Frederick-District 6-Image 2. Opal and Annette were (maiden) Johnson(s) thus half-sisters.
