I would like to make contact with someone who is familiar with, or lives near "Bent Creek" where it joins the Canadian River in Hutchinson County, Texas. I am doing historical research on that area and could use some help answering a question or two about the location.

I did notice she was 7 1/2 months pregnant. But, I did not realize she had a child. Thanks for this information.

Some background for this requested data on Earl. Earl lived in Kingsville, Kleberg Co., TX. prior to his death on 12 Dec 1987. At that time Earl was very depressed, as he had no family. My wife's aunt and uncle who lived in Kingsville befriended Earl. Earl gave them all of his papers, poems etc. The aunt and uncle arranged for the burial and along with a nurse were the only ones present at Earl's funeral.

Last Friday Mary K., daughter of the aunt and uncle and therefore my wife's cousin, asked if I could find any family member(s) of Earl. The aunt, who is in her middle 90s, wanted to transfer some or all of Earl's papers, if appropriate.

I do genealogy on 8 family members, including family on the aunt. By Sat. afternoon I had some census etc on Earl which indicated he did not have any immediate family members living. We knew he had a daughter deceased based on the poems etc.

After obtaining data, the aunt and Mary K. have decided to retain Earl's papers etc out of respect for him. Your information was what was lacking to provide closure.

Some Earl's half siblings lived and died in Fresno, CA. and I find no children or grandchildren. Earl's only full sibling , a sister, I found in prison in 1930.

Apparently with the death of his daughter in 1960 and divorce from his wife in 1974, the only "family" he felt he had was the "aunt and uncle". Very sad.

Again, you have truly been a blessing. This will provide closure.

Charles, I did not note that Carol Ann Spores Davis was 7 1/2 mos pregnant at time of death. Bobby Ray Davis 31 Mar 1960 Potter Co - 01 Apr 1960 Potter Co was her son and her spouse was Kenneth Dale Davis.

Kenneth Dale Davis appears then to have married Maxine Earlene Dalley and then had Scott Alan in Hutchinson Co in 1961 and Mary Kay 1963 in Hunt Co.

Kenneth Dale Davis born 28 May 1932 in Hutchinson Co to Glover Deuse Davis and Katherine Elizabeth Gatton. Maxine Earline Dalley was born in Floyd Co 17 Sept 1938 dtr of William Walker Dalley and Rosemary Aline Ryals.

Thelma Frances Newton born circa 1914 and Earl W Spores married 19 April 1937.

They would not have had dependant children in 1974 and Carol's marriage would not be in Texas marriage index if she married in Texas.

Thelma Newton born OK possibly dtr of Robert Ray Newton of TX and Mary Agnes Cook [went by Agnes] of TX, 1920 Ranger, Eastland and 1930 Tarrant Co census. Helen Newton 1915, Betty Ray Newton 3 May 1927 Tarrant Co. Helen Cook 1903 TX sister in law in 1930 household.

Betty Ray Newton married Ellis Benjamin Alferez had Alice Ann 1950 and twins Becky and Betty in 1953 in Tarrant Co. Ellis B Alferez born PA 1924 enlisted in the Army in 1943 in Philadelphia.

Robert Ray Newton 03 Sept 1891 Grapevine TX - 18 Oct 1966 Fort Worth

Mary A Newton 04 Nov 1894 - 24 Nov 1989 Arlington Texas. Texas death record shows her to be Mary Agnes Newton.

Earl W. Spores

According to data Earl W. and Thelma F. Spores were divorced in Hutchinson Co., TX. on 18 Feb 1974. Although the data states no children, I believe they had one daughter. She may have died prior to the divorce. Earl died in 1987 in Kingsville, Kleberg Co., TX. I have no idea what happened to Thelma.

Looking primarily for any leads on their daughter.

The James Franklin McNutt you are asking about was my g-grandfather. He was born in Belton,Texas in 1877. His father was William Pleasant McNutt, b in Alabama 1842.

Sorry! An address with phone number will sometimes be part of the "homepage search". I cannot tell you how to access that database, but it does exist as one of ancestry.com's tools. I do know that the "pay" search services, U. S. Search, etal can provide previous addresses.

Hi, don't think this will do you much good on finding the family,...but? I grew up in Bunavista, apartment barrack #C-6 and the England Family lived a few doors down from us. I remember Betty. Mostly, I remember the absolutely good looking legs the girls had in their short shorts. I was still undeveloped girl, and looked up to the ENgland girls as "hotties".
My family moved to Huber Camp, outside Borger when the company told everyone that they had to 'get out of Dodge'.
So, can't tell you where the family moved.

I would try to see if the girls had transfer addresses if they had to move out of Borger school? Also, Texas has their birth, marriages, divorce, death records available-and you might find the girls by locating a marriage?

Check out Ancestry.com for the TX records on line. IF you knew what church they attended? You might contact them on line and see about a transfer of family records? That does happen, and most of the larger churches are still around.

A phone call or e-mail to Browns or Mintons funeral homes might get you an address at death, if the father or mother were buried by Borger Mortuaries? Amarillo News Globe has a fair search engine which might pull up a name search?

A social security death index search-on Herman or Jessee might pull up where they were living when they died? Some of the family might have been close?

I am guessing that the England Girls were out of High School by the early 1950's. I was grad in 1961 and husband was 1958

I may be looking for a needle in a haystack but my mother and father moved to Borger probably circa 1951 and sometime after that they moved to Pampa.

Is there any way to find out where we may have lived and/or any other information? I know we lived in a small house and when we lived in Pampa he worked for an oil company, probably Texaco.

Thank you son much I finely got into your book. I grew up at 709 Whittenburg in Borger. Moved to Missouri in 1965. My first son was born in Borger in 1963. I married George Frederick Ray jr. My grandparent's were N.G. and Laura Harris my uncles were Pete Harris and Wilburn Harris my aunt and her husband are Tom and Joy Wood who live in Fritch. Still have 3 cousins in Fritch also. Albert Patrick King

Looking for information on Albert Patrick King who lived in Borger in the 1940s and 50s. He worked at one of the Phillips Plants and died in 1956.

Albert was Roskoe King's dad. Roskoe married Bridget Grogan during WWII and they had 14 children. All the kids were raised in Borger. I am married to one of the boys.

I am hoping someone will have some info on Albert's siblings or parents. Maybe he told some stories? I hear he was an iteresting person. I heard he possibly ran a store in Borger.

Alma alice Bunn born 29 Oct. 1908 died 27 Oct. 1971 is buried in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Borger, Texas.
All Markers in this cemetery are bronze mounted on granite or marble, The cemetery is located six miles West of Borger about half way between Borger and Fritch on Texas State Highway #136. Both Burials are listed in My Cemetery Book

My GGrandfather was William H. Mahoney. In trying to check what had happened to him in Texas I found out that there had been a fire and all of the records went up in flame. His son Michael Fall was my grandfather and told the same story that you reiterated. Are we "cousins"?

According to Jesse's obituary (22 Mar 1999), Herman died in 1991. It shows the 3 girls names as Wanda Cogdill, Elsie Denton, and Betty McCoy.

I am not kin to your Bird family of Georgia that I know about BUT James Eli Thomas was my Third Cousin. He was my GG Uncle Levi Lovett's son. My GG Grandfather was Eli Hugh Lovett, Levi's brother. The family called him JET.I wonder if James Eli was named after his uncle, my gg grandfather, Eli? Any information about McWillie Allen would be appreciated to provide me with facts about collaterial families.

I was wondering if anyone on here would be kind as to take a couple photos of some headstones of relatives of mine and email them to me. I've emailed the contact on the GenWeb site where I found the listing, but the email bounces back "unknown user". I live in Seattle and cannot currently afford to visit Texas, and would be willing to trade such services if anyone needs something around Seattle.

My relatives in Lieb Cemetery are Margaret Ann Stout (my Grandmother), and RP (Robert Perry) Stout and Thelma Mae Stout are her in-laws..

I am a volunteer researcher for the Texas Police Officers Memorial. On 10 Feb 1929 Borger Police Chief Joe HUTSON was accidentally wounded when another officer dropped his pistol. He was survived by his wife, 5 children, parents, 8 brothers and one sister. He was buried in Borger. I am searching for his place of burial and any surviving family members.

I will be adding what I have on McWillie and her family in the family tree, and I see you can access it too. I am studying the whole neighborhood as my Bird and Gasaway settled there the Huggins in 1860 and the Gasaways in 1900 and the Birds ca 1870. The Gasaways came to McAlester, OK where Thomas marion Gasaway, my ggrandpa died, Marys brother John Bird came from Pettit Jean and took her and the younger kids back and she got a land grant in the opposite corner of the Block where Robert Huggins got his land. She died 27 Oct 1971 and he died 21 Aug 1976, the funeral card says he died in Borger and is buried in Westlawn Memorial Cemetery in Borger. I sent this last week but it was returned and then I got sick with a really bad cold and didn't do anything but sit around and cough so here I am again--
I haven't received anything from my query, until today I had your message, plus 2 more telling me where she was buried. I have a spamtrap program that works well most of the time but evidently isn't perfect. Thanks for anything you can find for me. Alma Bunn was married to Joe Elmer Bunn, a cousin of my late husband and I have a copy of his funeral card but would like obits for both of them if possible. Thank you for your generous offer.
