Houston Co.
My grandfather was John William Bobbitt and he was married to a Jennie Louella Boykin on August 26 1906 in Houston Co.
They had a daughter named Ola Mae. He later married my grandmother Pearl Ferguson. I was wondering if Jennie Louella Boykin might be related to Rachel Boykin. I do no that she is burried in the Bobbitt Cem. Hope their is a connection because I would like to know more about her.

GEORGE W. YOUNG and RACHAEL BOYKIN b.1859 married in Houston County, TX Feb. 5, 1886. I believe Rachael BOYKIN had previously been married to JACOB BOYKIN b.1862. Jacob BOYKIN was the son of JOHN BOYKIN b.1828 MS and Lamanda.

These families appear on the 1880 Houston County, TX census.

JACOB BOYKIN and RACHAEL (Unknown) had a son born after 1880 named SAMUEL JAMES BOYKIN.

Apparently JACOB BOYKIN died, leaving Rachael a widow with a young son. I assume Rachael remarried the above George W. Young.

Their son, SAMUEL JAMES BOYKIN was raised by his grandparents on the BOYKIN side.

Any information on the YOUNG's, BOYKIN's, or who the parents of Rachael was would be appreciated.

Sammie.....this is not really my line. I am posting for this information for a friend that does not have a computer.

He is trying to find the surname of his Rachael ? that married Jacob Boykin. I imagine your Jennie Boykin is related to these Boykin's because I looked on the the 1900 Houston County Census and her family comes from MS and SC before that. That is the same migration pattern of Jacob Boykins family.....

Notice these are in the Weches area of Houston County....and your Jennie L. Boykin lived four houses away from John R. Bobbitt family. Then there is another Bobbitt family about three houses down from that that might be James J. Bobbitt but it has a ? beside it so must have been hard to read. His wife was Dolly.....maybe that was some of your Bobbitt's....

Georgia C. must have been married before to a Midciff:

Wm. C. Midciff; step-son; age 16

Sarah M. Midciff; stepdau; age 7

Hi Sammie, I am related to the Bobbitts as well and found quite a few are in the Weches Cemetery as well. If you can send me the names you are looking for I can talk to my cousin who has researched the Bobbitt line. My grandfather was Harvey Houston Bobbitt and he is buried in the Weches Cemetery with many of his familey as well.

Yes, indeed I am very interested in anything that you might have about the Bobbitt's, including the Boykin's and I know that my grandfather was married to a Jennie Bell also. My grandparents divorced when my Dad was a young boy, and therefore was not around his father;s family hardley any..I know that William Greer Bobbitt and Sallie Williams were my great grandparents...I have a picture of Sallie that my Aunt Ole Mae Storkel gave to me. OlaMae was the child of Jennie Boykin. OlaMae died several years ago and I did not have the wisdom to ask her more questions.
