Sorry for the long statement before the question, but it is the only way I know to get the right help.
In 1902 My great-grandfather was convicted on Murder in Houston Co. He was sentenced to 15 years in the state pen. In 1909 he was pardoned by Gov. T.M Campbell.
I have a copy of his pardon where it states that "Hundred of citizens of Houston, Anderson and Robertson Counties, County Officers and members of the Board of Pardons recommend climincy.
What im trying to find is a copy of his trial records. I want to see what "happened" that he was convicted and then so many asked for his release.
Does anyone know where to find such records? Did they even keep trial records in those days?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
