I am looking for info. on the children and their families
of Eli or Elijah Cheairs and Fannie Hiroms. I am also looking for info. on the children of Mattie Cheairs and
Fred Lee Hiroms. I know that Samuel Cartmill Hiroms and
Emily Anne Johnston were Fred and Fannie's parents.
John Edward Cheairs is the line I am working on and he was
the father to Eli or Elijah and Mattie. I am trying to get
details from any members tracking the lineage of this lines
so I can connect them better. John Edward married Elizabeth
Irwine.

I'm not positive, but I think Jonathan Cheairs was a son of Elijah. Jonathan was married to Martha A. E. JOHNSON on the 1850 Houston County Census. I do not know a lot about the Cheairs, but I was contacted by someone who has the whole line of Cheair. It's been some time since I did any searching on Cheairs because they are not in my direct line, Martha remarried a Sherman. I will try to find the old email and if I can, I will email you directly.

My Cheairs ancestry is through Eli M. Cheairs and Rachel Melvina Albright's son William Marion Cheairs. Eli M. is the father of your John E. Cheairs and my William M. Cheairs. Your Eli Jackson (b. 2-7-1889, d. 9-17-1970) and Fannie F. Hiroms (b. 2-18-1889, d. 2-12-1972) are buried in the Creek Cemetery located a few miles from Austonio, Tx. My notes also show that they had at least 2 children, Etheridge and Elizabeth. Fannie's father, Samuel Cartmill Hiroms, is also buried at Creek Cemetery. The other children of John E. are: Alie m. to Thomas W. LaRue, Mattie m. to Lee Hiroms, Nanny Lula m. to Jep. R. McDonald, Bertha M. m. to Frank M. Alford, Susan J. m. to Guy Swearington, Mary Magdelene m. to J. E. Womack, and William Edward m. to Lizzie Irwin. I have a contact person who is researching the Cheairs line and has it back to the immigrant Jan De La Chere in the 1600's. I also have another contact person. Please e-mail me.

Her parents were John and Eleanor "Biddix" Cheairs.

Rebecca had a sister Mary Ann Cheairs who married Stephen Jefferson Stanley, Jr..

I am the GGG Grand daughter of John Francis Cheairs Jr and Lucretia Basheba Stanley Cheairs. Their daughter Samantha Marelda Cheairs and Kyle Grundy Needham were my GG Grandparents. Lucretia "Basheba", Samantha , and Kyle G are all buried at Enloe Cemetery in Porter, Montgomery Co, TX. I have a copy of a photo of Samantha and her Aunt Sarah Stanley McFaddin (Lucretia Basheba's sister). I have several pages of note written by Samantha's grand daughter Josephine Marelda Mayer Fatheree giving insight to some Cheairs and Stanley info. She says for example: Aunt Sarah and Grandma Cheairs rode a mule from the Enloe Place, which was Aunt Sarah's home place a the time, to their father's (Stephen Stanley's) funeral at Skinner Cemetery on Caney Creek near Splendora. I have quite a bit more info.
There were actually 3 Stanleys that married 3 Cheairs siblings.Lucretia Basheba Stanley married John francis Cheairs in addition to the 2 you already know.Further 2 of the other Stanleys married 2 Mc Faddins. If you would like this info, please correspond with me.

We are looking for information on Mary Ann Elizabeth Cheairs first wife of Stephen Jefferson Stanley Jr. in 1837 San Augustine Texas. How was she related to his second wife Mary Ann Talitha Cheairs sister of Rebbeca Cheairs Stanley? Stephen and Mary Ann Talitha were married in Angelina County Texas 4-16-1857.

Just ran across this posting and wondered if you had any info in regards to William Carroll, Stephen Jr and Lucretia brother Peyton. He was my gggg grandfather. He died in La in 1853. Some of his children moved to Texas and lived with their grandmother Elizabeth and some of their uncles. I am trying to find out where in La they might have been buried. Peyton's wife Nancy was already dead by 1853 also. Stephen Jr was given guardian ship of the minor children, ie my ggg grandmother Susan and several others. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
