My niece, Shalyn Kinney, is the grand-daughter of Walt Jr., known to us as "Jack" Kinney. I am working up the Kinney family tree for her, to the best of my abilities. Do you know where John is buried and what date he died? I have been unable to find that anywhere. Also, can you tell me to whom Elsie was married? And also Michael Arthur? Of the ten children John &amp; Cora had (that I know of) those are the only two I couldn't find spouse information on.<br><br>Many thanks! Pamn Smith

I am doing research on the Kinney family on behalf of my niece, Shalyn Kinney. Walt Kinney is her great-grandfather and I want to be able to give her whatever information on the Kinney family I can. Plus, this ancestry stuff has become an obsession with me! I would appreciate anything you would be willing to pass my way. In particular, I know she would love seeing photos of her g-g'pa Walt. Thank you so much!<br>Pamn Smith

Thank you very much; I will definitely try asking the people you've suggested 'cause I really want to go back and get photographs of the stones to contribute to the Collinsville Cemetery. My great-great grandmother is buried there (Martha Glass Graham) and is full blood Cherokee. I actually have a picture of her, for which I'm thankful!<br><br>Thanks for your interest in answering my query.

Also the older folk in Collinsville at the churches around there should also know. Sorry I could not help any more than this. It has been many years since I stmmped aorund that area...

My mother's family lived in Collinsville and I'm sure that most or all of their obituaries were in the Sherman Herald Democrat. <br>I am posting a lot of cemeteries &amp; historical marker info. on the Grayson Co. website and I would love to have the following obits to post on the website as well:<br>Lewis Robertson Pilcher, d 9 Aug 1935<br>Lou T. While visiting the plot this week, we found that someone else had also placed flowers for 3 burials in that plot, including the rusted funeral home marker. I do know that at one time they were in California and came to Kentucky by<br>covered wagon. So you may want to look in California as well. Ellen was JUST an infant when they made the trip from California to Kentucky. Hope this helps a bit, I haven't really been able to find much more either. Same name also listed for overlapping time-periods in Arizona? In either case, public listing for Lois A. Blanche, 820 Lk Rd, Gordonville, TX 76245, (903) 523-4941.

Jean can you help me clear up some information. I have Jarott Tracey died in Sherman, Grayson County in 1917. He and Gertrude (Gerty) had a daughter, Eugene Tracey who married Arthur James Briscoe (some records leave the e out of the last name) in Nov 1928. Arthur and Eugene(Gene) had two children. Donald Jarrott, Virginia. You can find them on the 1930 Census living in Childress County Texas in 1930. Arthur then divorced Eugene and married again. I have not been able to find the location of Jarrott's (Jarrett)grave. Do you have any additional information on the Jarrett Tracey Family?

He, the father, was the informant on his namesake son's death certificate. However the younger William Barnett (27 Nov 1916 - 23 May 1920) died in San Antonio. If you have the time and patience, there are 12 pages of Wright-surname deaths viewable in Grayson County. <a href="http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start" target="_blank">http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start</a> Leave the first name blank, input Wright in the surname box, scroll to death/burial under event, and input: Grayson, Texas, United States in the location box. The Grayson County Clerk's phone: (903) 813-4235. Almost certain access to probate and tax records have to be done in person. Food for thought? Would you marry someone without meeting family members? At an early age I was told to observe the mother of any protential bride! The mother represents a vision of the young lady's future looks, behaviors, etc.

All of the old census records had his father as unknown birthplace, mother being MO or somewhere else, can't remember right now. The 1890 census records being gone makes this SO difficult. How can I get tax records from Grayson County? I also thought about searching Texas deaths in Grayson County, named Wright, and seeing if they may have his signature for an informant.

That information (date and place where he fell) is on the death certificate. Even more confusing are the birth places of his father (Germany) and mother (Missouri)? I did not find Wright-surnames matching that criteria in 1880 Grayson. Perhaps his widow was confused and was referring to her parents? I believe probate and/or tax records are needed to resolve William's heritage. Too, there was another Barnie/Barney Wright in Grayson County with an earlier birthdate.

She was buried in Medicine Mound Cemetery. Her husband, Tipton Conkin Mulkey (7 Feb 1867 - 24 Oct 1950), was born in Kentucky and died in Amarillo, TX. He, too, was buried in Medicine Mound Cemetery. Her brother, Emmett Walter Bledsoe (24 Jul 1884 - 15 Aug 1957), died in Sherman, TX and was buried in Elliott Cemetery of Van Alstyne.
Sorry if the following offends anyone! He fell in a well, in San Antonio, on 7 Oct 1934. He died 19 days later in Denison. The cause of death was "pulmonary emboli" contributed by a "fractured lumbar vertebrae". Certainly, better medical facilities existed in San Antonio? World-class medical facilities existed 197 miles east in Houston? Enroute from San Antonio to Grayson County (348 miles), he would have travelled through Austin (80 miles) and Dallas (278 miles)? Food for thought?

So you have actually seen people ask about him before? He is very frustrating. I have everyone else down to two generations before except him, I can make absolutely no headway. Do you have any tips for finding him? I live just South of San Antonio, so driving to Grayson to see if he has a birth certificate's a no go for me. I have the census records, want to go to the courthouse and see if he and Elizabeth were married in Bexar County, it's not too far a drive since I am in the next county South, Atascosa. If you need help monitoring or helping, I am a stay at home mother and this has become a full time hobby, I love finding out about the past, and most of mine and my husband's family is from right here, from South and Central Texas. Thanks.<br><br>Amanda

How does he tie into your family tree? He is my g grandfather. I have quite a bit of info having to do with him, but cannot find his parents names. I have a copy of his death certificate, but evidently my g grandmother knew nothing about his parents. Would love to know how you are related, as I have no contact with anyone from that side of my family. My grandmother was the oldest of William's children, Agnes Elizabeth Wright Shearer. I also have quite a bit of info on Elizabeth Ann Bredow Wright, William's wife. Contact me @ <a href="mailto://rustonfamilytree@yahoo.com">rustonfamilytree@yahoo.com</a> , I too would like to figure out who William was. The 1890 census would be real helpful if it hadn't been destroyed!<br><br>Amanda

Please accept the offer? I'm curious 'cause I tried to find him without success! He registered for WWI Draft in Cottle County on 5 Jun 1917. That's some distance from his, then, home in San Antonio. Even tried reserching his wife in hopes he would be somewhere nearby! Her parents divorced and she escaped me in 1900. The Jack Lester Wright referred to in an earlier reply was probably Zac Lester Wright (22 Apr 1883 - 1 Jan 1963), son of Elijah Wright and Mollie Newman. Zac was born in Collinsville and died in San Angelo but Lubbock was his, then, home. Let's solve the mystery of Barnie?

This at least may give me a name to look into. Because of the 1890 census being destroyed, my ancestor was just the right age to not be living at home in 1900 but not yet born in 1880. It STINKS! Thanks for the info. By the way, where is the land plat? And you said the Wrights lived next door? Oh and anything you may need to know from Bexar or Atascosa Co. very willing to help out with. Thanks again!

Just a note that might relate-- I have a picture in my family history stuff of a Jack Lester Wright. Both my dad's parents were from Grayson Co.. His mother from Sherman and his father from Collinsville. There was a Wright family farm next to our family farm in Collinsville back in 1890's as I've seen on a land plat. Picture to me put's this Wright as being born near the time of your Wright your looking for.(Early 1880's) Maybe a brother or relative? Anyway, I have no info on this pic so it could be a Sherman or Collinsville Wright. His name is the only thing written on back. Just wanted to mention in case this might relate somehow in your research. Good luck. Will

Hi, I am looking for a William Barnett "Barnie" Wright, also went as Barnie and W.B. Wright. I am pretty desperate at this point, my grandparents passed on over 20 yrs ago and my mother knows nothing about him. All I have are birth and death dates from the family bible that was my grandmothers. William Wright b. 9/10/1882 in Sherman, Grayson County Texas. He lived in San Antonio, but for whatever reason died in Grayson County. Death certificate states he died falling down a well. Death date 10/26/1934. Any information would be very welcome. I thought that it may have been in the paper since it was an accidental death. Looking for his parents. Thanks. Email at <a href="mailto://rustonfamilytree@yahoo.com">rustonfamilytree@yahoo.com</a>

Not related! View online death certificate for Flo Jones McClendon (8 Jan 1890 - 18 Apr 1967) at <a href="http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start" target="_blank">http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start</a> She died in Dallas, TX and parents identified as John Taylor Jones and Chloe Matilda Moody by Mrs. Charles J. Pierce-daughter. That's a good place to start! Flo had a twin sister, Chloe (SSDI: 8 Jan 1890 - Nov 1979) who married William Vernon [W. V.] Humphreys (5 Dec 1887 - 30 Dec 1957). Flo's husband was John R. McClendon. Chloe, the mom, must have died about 1890-91? John T. Jones(52) had a new wife Mary E.(46) in 1900 TX-Red River-Precinct 3-District 106-Page 10. Also in the household were: Laban/Labon L.(19), Maggie M.(17), Joseph S.(15), and the ten-year old twins Cloe and Floe. Hope you subscribe to ancestry.com 'cause they are not difficult to research. In 1910 Red River-Precinct 3-District 122-Page 7, find John T. Janes[sp](62), Mary(56), Laban L.(29), and Chloe(20). Next door lived son Joe T. Jones(24), Ophelia(21), and Leola(2). They lived in Bogata, TX. In 1910 TX-Floyd-Precinct 1-District 105-Page 9, find John R. McClendon(23), Floe(20), and Veda(1 2/12). In 1920, find the McClendons in Marshall County, OK-Madill-District 163-Page 9. In 1920 Red River-Precinct 3-District 148-Page 24 find the Humphrey[sp] clan next door to Joe Jones(34) and his family. In the same district on Page 27, find Labe Janes[sp] and his family. Brothers Labon Lee Jones (16 Aug 1880) and Joe Taylor Jones (1 May 1885) registered for WWI Draft in Red River County. In 1930 Red River-Precinct 3-District 12-Page 1 find the family of Laben L. Jones. In the same district on Page 24, find the family of W. V. Humphreys. Oddly, Joe Taylor Jones' death certificate indicates his mother's surname was Baker? Guess it was a case of "the informant not being well-informed"? All that and I didn't bother researching Maggie or checking the birth index for living descendants. Go get 'em!

Oh my! Now you will have to get busy? Start by viewing online death certificates at <a href="http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start" target="_blank">http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start</a> Thomas McKnight Williams (12 Aug 1881 - 29 Jan 1955) born in Lawrence County, MO to Robert H. Williams and Louisa J. (unknown). His wife, Mary Francis Williams (10 Dec 1882 - 16 Nov 1975) born and died in Denison, TX. Her parents were Patrick Henry Tobin and Jessie Cameron. No "gold star" for guessing her surname, Cornish! Virgie E. Cornish was the daughter of Clinton Cornish and Laura G. (Williams) Cornish. Laura and Thomas M. Williams were siblings. Let's deal with the Williams-clan? Hope you subscribe to ancestry.com? Thomas McKnight William's father was Robert H. and his grandfather was Charles, born about 1819 in Tennessee. Search 1850 MO-Dade-District 25-Page 64, 1860 MO-Lawrence-Ozark, 1870 MO-Lawrence-Ozark-Page 18, 1880 MO-Lawrence-Ozark-District 84-Page 26, 1900 MO-Lawrence-Lincoln-District 77-Page 25, and 1910 OK-Pittsburg-McAlester Ward 1-District 232-Page 32. Believe you have Thomas' census data so I will not forward same? You can also view Mary Francis (Tobin) Williams' parents death certificates. Patrick Henry Tobin (22 Mar 1851 - 17 Aug 1935) and Jessie Cameron Tobin (28 Feb 1859 - 19 May 1935).
