My sister, Brenda (Clements) Long, found a stock certificate in my father's Bible. I was wondering if anyone knew the history of this stock?

I know it is not worth anything but this was the first we had ever heard of it. My father passed away in 1965, I have made copies and sent one today to our cousin Bruce Hanson in Midland, Texas.

I would like to know the history of this company. Here is what we know.

The company was unincorporated, capitol stock was $200,000.00, the shares sold for $25.00 each, and the date recorded was February 27, 1919.

The stock certificate is NO. 52, and the certificate has not been signed anywhere and no name attached.

I assume this was a get rich quick deal, but I would like to know the history. I realize most of the old timers are now gone, such as my grandmother Christine (Hanson) Bigby and her brother "Uncle Bud" Hanson, but I would like to hear anything on this!

Thank You,

William W.

Hello, family records indicate that William Fletcher Weir b 1854 Humansville, Missouri , to Elbert Pleasant Berry Weir & Jane D, Holt, had lived in Glasscock County Tx. William did not come to Texas with parents, probably came alone. He was a former Texas Ranger in 1874 in Brown & San Saba Counties, he married Ellen Johnson in Brady, Mc Culloch County Decemeber 16,1880, they had eight children in Texas and moved to Monument NM in early 1900 sometime. I can find no evidences at all of them ever having lived in Glasscock Co, but family insists they did. They supposedly has a huge ranch and raised Herford cattle.I do know that they had sons that were famous in Texas, NM and all over in the rodeo circuit, in fact one of the sons helped his father William raise horses for the calvary, I have researched this and find no evidence of this, maybe I just dont know who to contact, would appreciate any assistance. Hope someone can help me out, many thanks!

This newspaper clipping was found in the belongings of Elizabeth(Eliza)Caroline BURNS WOOLSEY:

F.M.WALKER and wife of Konohassett,Glasscock,TX
The above picture is of myself and wife,M.H.WALKER.I was born March 19,1839 and we were married March 19,1861. To this union was born ten children. Two died in infancy, two after they were grown and married. Six are living yet, one boy and five girls. I professed religion Sept 27 1855 and joined the Missionary Baptist Church. I was ordained a minister in 1872. Was made a Master Mason over thirty-five years ago and an Odd Fellow eight years ago. I was broke up during the Civil War; was in Hill's Regiment,Confederate Army. I came to Texas in 1883 and landed in Dripping Springs,Hays County. My wife was born Jan 24 1841. She is old and feeble, but is still able to stir around,,even at the age of 70 years.
Rev. F.M. WALKER, Konohassett,Glasscock Co.TX

I would be glad to forward this clipping to anyone researching the Walker genealogy. I just couldn't throw it away when I found it. What a priceless item. Dorothy Wren
