During the bad hurricane in Galveston around the turn of the century my family just disappears.
Alice James married John Grothgar a lawyer in Galveston County, Texas on 12-17-1878. After the hurricane Alice and her children came up on the missing list. Her husband John Grothgar was away in Mineral Wells on business when it happened. He apparently never remarried and died in Galveston many years later. Any info on these people is much appreciated.
