Quanah Parker and the Seminole Parkers

My paternal grandmother's family was from Gaines County and the Seminole area. I still have some Parker family living in the area. There have always been rumors of a relation either to Cynthia Ann Parker or to Quanah Parker, but none of my Parker relatives can confirm or deny these rumors. I need to get some information on any Parker's that were related to or knew John Oliver "Rusty" Parker, Mae Etheline "Sug" Parker Baker Anderson, J.D. Parker, or their parents John and Ethel Mae Parker. Thanks a lot!!!!

Roxanna,
Your Gaines Co. TX Parkers may, indeed, be kin to Quanah. Between Seminole and Lamesa (Dawson Co) there is a place known as Cedar Lake. There was-is a monument to Quanah.

your parkers would have to come from the northern areas to be kinned. Many have tried to connect to this line and I think that all Parker (including my own line) has told the storys and tried to connect.) It is a small line and the linage is traced. Try a google search of Quannah's family tree.
