Sidney S. Lackey died Tues. at home 8 mi. n.w. of city; half brother to Mrs. H.A. Weaver of Mt. Vernon, brother M.M. Lackey of Hansford; mother married Cam English (maybe name Cam or short for comrade referring to U.C.V. membership); services at Pleasant Grove; In Memorium from Matt Ashcroft Camp U.C.V., he was in Company I (as i), 9th Texas Cavalry, Ross' Brigade; born Missouri 1842; survivors: last wife and several children by a former marriage.

"Cam" English is Campbell English born 24 Feb 1815 at Giles County, Tennessee and died 08 Nov 1881 at Mt.Vernon,Texas. Fought in the Black Hawk Wars. Lived at Missouri married 1st Elizabeth Crisp 28April 1833 at Springfield Green County Missouri. Children:Thomas Reading English; Carolyn Ruth English; James Enton English; Robert Benton English;Singleton Capley English. Married 2nd Eliza J. Lackey in 1851 at Hopkins County,Texas had Laticia English 1853 and Dora C. English 1856.

Campbell English married widow Eliza Lackey. She had several Lackey children including Sidney. So Sidney is a step brother to Letitia English who married Henry Weaver
