I need assistance finding the grave of my grandmother, Cecil Dixon Emswiler. My grandfather, John Edward Emswiler, may also be buried beside her. I believe they may be in a cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Did you commit a typo? "Cecile" vice "Cecil"? If so, Cecile D. Emswiler died in Travis County Dec 1970. Texas records indicate 9 Dec whereas SSDI has 15 Dec. That may be her 'cause she is also in the Austin, TX directory as widow of J. E. Emswiler. Did they have a son John Dixon Emswiler (31 Jan 1929 - 1 Jan 2004) who died in Dallas County? That's about all I could research! Perhaps a posting in Travis County will yield positive results?

Yes, I did commit a typo. John Dixon was my father, and I am searching for the location of his parents' graves - Cecile and John Edward. I temporarily gave up after running into lots of dead ends a few years ago. My father had said they were buried in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, but there is apparently no record of them anywhere in OH state. I knew Cecile had died in Texas, and was hoping there might be a lead in Mt. Vernon, TX. Thank you very much for your help. I will investigate things further in Travis County

Your father is deceased? Believe you qualify to obtain a copy of her death certificate? I was pondering the midwest connection 'cause they were enumerated in 1930 MI-Washtenaw-Ann Arbor-District 15-Image 17. Your father and his sisters were born in Michigan? Their parents were born in Ohio? Best wishes! Seek a lookup of her obit, perhaps from the library? Ignore that second sentence? It has been more than 25 years and her death record is available to the "general public."
