According to the death certificate of Calvin Eugene Dickens, a son of J. A. and Mary Dickens, his mother's maiden name was Mary Pierce.
Calvin was born 16 January 1887 in Salado, Bell County Texas, (This is from his WWI Draft Registration Card.)
He died 11 December 1921 in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas. The informant was R. L. Dickens. (Could this be his brother, Robert L. Dickens?)
He is buried in Oak Cliff Cemetery.
According to the death ceritificate of their son, William Washington Dickens, the parents were John Aaron Dickens and Mary L Pierce.
I believe the Robert L (Lee) Dickens you want is found in Vernon Parish, La, in 1910. He is 33 years old. His wife is Dovie. They have three children, Thelma L. (Lee), Ethel M (Mae) and Durwood C.
In 1900, Robert L. Dickens is living with his father-in-law, Dock Stroope in Bell County, Texas. Robert's birth is given as November 1876, in Texas.
In 1920, Robert Lee Dickens and his family are in Dallas County, Texas. I believe this solidifies the fact that this is the Robert Dickens that is the son of John Aaron Dickens and Mary L. Pierce, since his brothers William Washington and Calving Eugene were in Dallas County.
Thelma Dickens, Robert's daughter and Dorothy Dovie Stroope Dickens both died in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. I cannot find a death record for Robert Lee Dickens.
I have more information. If you will tell me what you are looking for in connection with Robert Lee Dickens, maybe I can help you.
