Monument Hill Chapter DRT is a partner with Friends of Monument Hill State Park, Chapter 53 Sons of Republic and Fayette Library Friends in promoting genealogical and other historic research for Fayette County ancestors who lived, worked and otherwise pioneered this county prior to and during the Republic of Texas into its early statehood transitions. Friday September 15, 2006 the Fayette Library/Museum/Archives offers extended research hours in conjunction with Texas Heroes Day Events the same weekend at Monument Hill Kriesche Brewery State Historic Site in La Grange.
For more information please e mail me or see the La Grange Chamber of Commerce's Calendar for September 2006.
This is an annual event held the weekend closest to September 18th. We'd love to help you find family history and celebrate your heritage with your historic community in Fayette County! If you have documents, journals, pictures, etc. to share we can make copies or accept originals to add to the local, public archives.
The Daughters and Sons of the Republic would also love to have you join their efforts to preserve early Texas heritage including supporting the State's Monument Hill Kriesche Brewery Historic Site/Park. Let me help you get in touch with us!
