State Land Records indicate that one Collin McKinney was issued a land patent in fannin co. purchased from one sterling smith. the patent was issued on 29 Aug 1849. Can anyone confirm who this Collin might be? The famous Collin McKinney was in Collin County at this time and showed no record of land owned in Fannin County. Could some one check the deed for when collin sold the land who the wife is listed. This could postivily confirm or deny if the land was owned by the famous collin or perhaps my GGGGrandfather.
