Goodman: Mustang Prairie Cemetery

Classification: Query
Surnames: Goodman, Davidson
Two graves in Mustang Prairie Cemetery are of interest to me. One is the grave of Euna J. (or Lunie J.) Goodman, (b. 6 Aug 1874--d. 2 Oct 1895.) The second grave is that of Marie Goodman (b. 14 Sep 1848--d. 23 Apr 1904), listed as wife of A. J.

I am wondering whether these two Goodmans are related to Andrew Goodman, who was the half-brother of Ida (Meggs) Moore, my husband's great-grandmother. Marie--possibly/probably Mary--(Davidson) Goodman was born in Mississippi, according to Falls Co., TX Census records from 1880 through 1900. I have not been able to locate a census record on Andrew and Mary in 1870, although they were married by that time. Neither have I located a census record for Andrew and Mary after 1900.

According to the 1880 Census record, Andrew and Mary had a daughter LENA, born about 1874. She is not with them on the 1900 Census in Falls Co. I am wondering whether the Goodman b. 1874--d. 1895, who is buried in Mustang Prairie Cemetery might be LENA, listed as "Euna or Lunie"? Further, rather than the name "Marie" (b. 1848--d. 1904), I wonder whether she is actually MARY Goodman?

This is only the second time I have seen Andrew Goodman's name given with the initials "A. J.". The first time I ever saw initials used for him was on his son's death certificate.

I will appreciate any assistance with these two tombstones in Mustang Prairie. Thank you!

Wilma Moore
