I am looking for information on Lillian Long, daughter of Earl Benton Long and sister of Joe Bailey Long. Lillian was born about 1905 in Oklahoma.

I have the obituaries for both Earl and Joe. Earl's says that he had three grandchildren. I have been able to determine that two of them were sons of Joe Bailey Long. The third was probably the child of Lillian, who is not mentioned in either obituary. Can anyone help me find this child? I have no idea who Lillian married.

Also, does anyone know if Earl had a second wife? No wife is mentioned in his obituary. The mother of Lillian and Joe Bailey was Susan Ida Jackson, whose father was my great grandmother's half-brother. Susan died in Crosby County in 1923. She is buried in Hood County, Texas, near her parents and first child who died young.

I found your website that has Early Benton Long as the name of the father of Lillian Long. That is how I found his name on the 1910 and 1900 census records.

Also on your website you seem familiar with the sons of Joe Bailey Long. Have you tried to find them to ask if they know about Lillian?

I believe Jennings Humphreys Long lives in Lubbock. I have found a telephone humber for him, but I don't know if it is a current number. If you will email me, I will sent it to you.

On one website I found that Joe Bruce Long was married to a Linda Cuttler, but I cannot find out anymore about him.

I have found that Lillian was married to Dewey R. Sullivan. Dewey was born 1 Dec 1900 and died 16 Nov 1940 in Knox County. According to information on his death certificate, he was buried in the Rule Cemetery.

Lillian was born 14 May 1904 amd died 11 Feb 1953 in Dickens County. She, too, was buried in the Rule Cemetery.

A few months ago, someone (right now I don't remember who) told e that Dewey and Lillian were killed in car wreck in the 1940's and that they had a young son who was then adopted by another family. From their death certificates, I now know that at least part of that story was false.

They were listed on the 1930 census in Crosby County, Texas. No children were listed with them. I do not find any children born to either of them on the Texas Birth Index.

I would love an obituary for either Dewey or Lillian. Lillian's grandfather, Jeremiah Jackson, was my great grandmother's half brother.
