Sorry I have not been in touch sooner. My computer has been alot of problems for us and being new to all this well it was a mess and quite frankly I forgot to check my Dewitt Co query!
I have others researching the Bissett's and would love to know what you know about them. I know that our Bissett's came from Nash Co.,N.C. to Ala then to Miss. and on to Tx. where they settled.

Lodewick Bissett b.5-8-1807(family says Germany)came from Nash Co.,N.C. and married Mourning Williams in Greene Co.,Ala., on 12-15-1829. Mourning Williams parents were Henry Williams and Mary(Polly) William. Yes they were kin! A double line of Williams.Their first born was a son born in Greene Co.,Ala. then the rest were born in Miss.

My line is Lancelot L. Bissett and his wife Sarah Lusk/Rusk ??? She was born in 1832 in Ms. This is all we know at this time on her.

I am descended from Matilda Adaline Bissett who married George Washington Squyres. She died after giving birth to her last child. She had 5 girls and 1 boy. Her husband remarried and they stayed in the area but the Bissett's had moved on to Bee Co.,Tx.
William and Isabella were twins. I have a picture of Belle.
I have alot more info but wanted to wait and see what you have. I am in touch with several of the Bissett descendants. I would love to share their email addresses and our history but wanted to wait and see what you have and want.
